I’m not sure of the point of this. Sixth form is not mandatory schooling so those who don’t continue in education don’t benefit from this. As it says in the petition, this is already covered during the mandatory education years. If the earlier education isn’t comprehensive enough then we need to make it more robust. 15 and 16 year olds are old enough to learn and understand the whole topic. Many will be living with it in their daily lives.

Earlier education is age appropriate, 6th will have scope to go into much greater detail/greater information/knowledge about support. There’s a giant difference between what’s age appropriate education for a 16 & 18 year old.

6th form, or a variation of it, is compulsory education these days. Kids have to be in some form of education until 18 minimum. Presumably there’s scope for the equivalents some kids attend to have the same education. Even if not, something is better than nothing. It’s a start.

I had no idea they’d made sixth form compulsory!

Kids can leave after GCSEs, but only to go to education. So they can go straight to college, but they have to be in a form of education until 18 now.
