The article presents arguments for gender neutral language as a threat to women's political organisation and free speech.

The message I got today, after having spent hours working on the final draft, reads as follow:

"Thank you for submitting the final draft of your article. We acknowledge and appreciate the effort you invested in writing this article, however, we have decided not to publish it.

We recognize that everyone is entitled to their opinions. Still, we believe that your article lacks empathy for the LGBTQ+ community. While we encourage strong opinions, we do not condone the dismissal of other people’s identities and struggles to exercise their civil liberties.

We hope for your understanding. Thank you for your time and your work."

I wrote about censored cancelled women and I got exactly the same treatment. Please support me by sending a short email to <polemics@da-vienna.at>, letting them know gender critical women deserve to be heard. I have to say here that my editor at this magazine stood up for me and against the censorship. The Board didn't care.

Here is the article, which was to be subject to final editing. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1HBe5eF_xqIx06h2eOyjTt3Syr5lNICxfTzfBCv4uWJw/edit?usp=sharing

You wrote a remarkable and incendiary article which I cheer at! A toast to you! What a great piece of writing.

Every single woman on this planet faces this misogyny, because she holds the means of reproduction. Your article has the potential to open women's eyes to this reality.

Hey! I'm a but late but I only just found this post. I'm sorry how the DA is treating you. I actually got a master's from there too several years ago, but being an introvert I wasn't very active outside my classes. So as an alumni I'll also send them an email. Your article is excellent though, it's worrying that the institutional capture has progressed that far in Austria too. Stay strong! I hope the friend that's going to visit you, will be able to cheer you up.

For you. It's funny how the DA stayed conservative, with old teaching staff and attention paid to decorum, while the societies turned so left.

The part about the concealment of the issue of female bodies being ignored in medicine was really good. Also the part about how everyone redefines female but male is fine.

we believe that your article lacks empathy for the LGBTQ+ community.

Where's the empathy for you? Where's the empathy for women?

How does their conscience allow them to make LGB movement the enemy of women. So much for allies, when push comes to shove we know how that works out. I fear there will be unhappy consequences for L&G movement and acceptance, the gay people outside the establishment are being abused by this ideology that has captured its former organizations. G&L youth are suffering immensely from this disastrous ideology, history will look back at this time as the lobotomies/conversion therapy/mental institutionalization and aids virus all wrapped in one.

A lost generation of G&L adults who are infertile/disfigured/mentally scarred. Lesbian women in early adulthood who talked themselves into sex and partnering with men for years they can not get back. The innocent boys who should have been allowed to grow up as healthy intelligent and creative feminine gay men and who are often disparaged even among their own community, were instead abused and transitioned by their homophobic parents in the suburbs before they ever got a chance to experience romantic or sexual attraction. I think unfortunately that may be where the wave of suicides comes from, only the victims have grown up and will not allow this to be reframed as transphobia.

I am angry at how this effects and hurts women and I am heartbroken at the generation thats been stolen.

W O W that was really well written. Loved that bit about Neo-patriarchy - the old "is she a man?" has become "no really, she is a man".

To whom it may concern,

I was deeply disappointed to hear of your decision not to publish a gender critical article talking about the harm gender neutral language causes to women. Universities are supposedly bastions of free speech where ideas of every flavour can be aired and carefully examined on their own merits. Unequivocally silencing an area of the debate because it is disliked by a momentarily fashionable crowd damages this reputation.

You rejected the article because it "lacks empathy for the LGBTQ+ community". Which areas of the community are you talking about? The lesbians who have been driven out of their own communities for refusing to have sex with those with penises? The effeminate gay men who are told they cannot exist without surgery and hormones because they are clearly female? Or the young people questioning their identities who are told if they don’t explore transition they will be at risk of suicide?

It is not just women who are affected by gender neutral language. It has the potential to severely damage many members of the community you claim to be trying to protect. I urge you to reconsider your decision, out of respect and concern for the LGBTQ+ community.

Kind regards,

I sent this ^ feel free to copy pasta the bits you agree with.

Can you share the article? Want to read it before deciding whether to support or not. Understand if not sure to rl issues

Sure, here's the link https://docs.google.com/document/d/1HBe5eF_xqIx06h2eOyjTt3Syr5lNICxfTzfBCv4uWJw/edit?usp=sharing . It has two lines of strong wording, with which my editor was fine. I wasn't given a chance to edit these lines, however. It was cancelled outright. My editor stood up for me, however.

Is it OK if I copy post a link to this in twitter where it might get more exposure?
