For real. Once upon a time blindfolds and satin handcuffs were considered super spicy. Nowadays if you’re not re-enacting Guantanamo bay levels of torture in the bedroom you’re a prude.
I don’t know who you’re referring to but this made me see red

I'm so terrified for all the young girls who think violence like this is sexually acceptable. I've already heard of teens who have experienced sexually violent behaviors from their boyfriends, but we'll never truly know the full extent of how they're affected as a population. This is absolutely gut-wrenching.
What's even more troubling is the women stuck in prostitution who feel like they cannot say no ever. I know the pressure exists within a personal relationship dynamic as well, but it seems a bit more horrific knowing a complete stranger is financially controlling you.
It was an amazing feat to get this normalized. The MRAs dream come true under the guise of "feminism."
Frankly I think this is possibly the most serious issue facing young women today not only because of its violence but because of the way women are trained to court it.
I personally know women who are sort of cognizant of the medical danger and of the fact that they’re only doing it because of trauma who STILL think there’s absolutely nothing wrong with being strangled as long as it’s “gentle.”
We are training young women to have a death wish.
I couldn’t agree more. I wish radfems could focus more on this and less on the trans train.
I agree. A lot of the trans stuff is deeply troubling, but I see this rise of sexual violence/kink as more pressing. A huge fix would just be tackling the extreme porn that's causing multiple issues for women and children.
Yes, and like another commenter says, this is the root of 99% of all trans stuff anyway. Men trans due to porn and women trans to escape what men are like because of porn. If we stopped the porn, the trans would stop too.
I think it's all interconnected. It's no coincidence that the first generation raised on hardcore, violent pornography is also the first to have skyrocketing rates of young girls trying to identify out of womanhood.
100% all of this.
If we want the cycle to end, we must confront the source, which always seems to be porn.

This community is for the analysis of BDSM, fetish and other sex practices which cause harm to the participants, especially from a feminist perspective.
Many of these practices coincide with or evolve into abuse.

I remember when kinky was generally assumed to mean dressing up in a nurse costume and role-playing, not strangling your girlfriend within an inch of her life.
