Took a look at the front page image, and I think today is finally the tipping point for me getting off of Ravelry...

I know many designers began offering their patterns elsewhere after the site redesign debacle. But, I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations for how to keep my stash, patterns, and projects organized.

I've seen things like Trello and Airtable mentioned on a lot of sewing blogs. I'm going to work on downloading my library this week - I'd just like to be able to have it 'visually' organized, which was the big advantage to the Ravelry library.

[ETA: I have downloaded Trello and started organizing my patterns with it. I posted some info in the comments, for anyone interested.]

Wow, that's a whole ass right there. It might be time to deactivate my account now too :/

Pride is: people being happy in same sex relationships, people being happy alone, same sex parents thriving, ASS IN A JOCKSTRAP, FULL BODY FETISH GEAR, DOG MASK WITH HOLE IN MOUTH FOR BLOWJOBS

I've been looking for an alternative for a long time, but alas... Especially Cassidy's email attacks on the disabled after the site redesign were the last drop for me (and then the female employees apologized instead of Cassidy, omg!). I'm a pattern seller, so for that I have many alternatives. However, I'm sad that there's not a good alternative for me personally to track my works, to chat with people on forums, etc. If anyone knows of one, let me know. I've been wanting to make one myself, but that would take many years, hahah.

Yeah, the whole thing with the redesign and Cassidy going off to pout was so wrong, then posting on Twitter recently about somehow turning patterns into NFTs, and now 'Nothing Says Knitting Like Bondage and Buttplugs'... I'm not putting money in their pockets anymore.

Made a Trello account, and I'm going to try following a tutorial I found on a sewing blog. I'll update if I have success. (Would love to see your patterns, if you're comfortable sharing that, too! Pattern collecting is also a hobby of mine apparently, haha)

Nooooo! It just keeps getting worse!

And thank you for your interest in my patterns! Unfortunately I'm not really comfortable sharing, since my livelihood depends on it remaining an apolitical, drama-free shop, and you never know who's reading forums like these. But I'm flattered by people being interesting in each other's craft patterns and supporting them here, it's good to see us all supporting each other. :)

No worries, I totally understand.

That was one of the things I loved most when I found Ravelry, the ability to support (predominately female) designers who put so much love into their craft. I'll miss that.

I just looked for him on twitter - has he been banned?

Have you shared your patterns on here, if not please PM me, I’m always looking for good patterns.

[–] HesitantHyena 14 points (+14|-0)

I haven't shared them here. Thank you for your interest, but in all honestly I'm not comfortable linking my pattern shop and designer persona (which is my livelihood) with any personal posting profiles or political websites, since it could mean serious loss of income if anyone would have bad intentions.

They could have at least tried to make it relevant to the site, and put a nice knitted cozy on that buttplug.

Isn’t one of the owners of ravelry an agp?

[–] armwontset [OP] 9 points (+9|-0)

Yeah, owners are a TIM and his wife.

[–] XXathlete 3 points (+3|-0)

Whaaaat? I've kind of inadvertently stopped using ravelry for the last while and I was starting to go back, but... Apparently I'm going to skip it. I thought it was largely just a bunch of ugly handmaidens, but geez. So much worse.

Yeah, male freak who had a meltdown over disabled users criticising his fugly site redesign a while ago.

Ravelry is my source for patterns. I don't go there for pictures of.... let me check... people in dog masks with leather harnesses on. But where will we get our patterns? It's just such a great collection with useful search functions.... hmmmm.

Ugh. I haven’t been on Ravelry in a while and was really trying hard to ignore the fuckwittery, just duck in and out to grab my patterns. But they’re really doubling down on the extraneous bullshit.

I’ve made the one forum I use there the link page, so I don’t have to see the perverts’ advertising front page. Makes me wonder why they banned Trump supporters, Trump himself would fit right in with the other fetishists and predators they support.

omg

tbh, I'd decided not to buy anything from ravelry anymore - or visit any sites through their links. I just use their free patterns. I think they don't generate money this way?

Shirt on the screen that says, “We are everywhere”. Yeah, no kidding. No escape from the T’s anywhere.

I overlooked the TRA politics on ravelry since it's a great resource of free crochet patterns, but yeah... I'll be getting rid of my account. Don't see how a buttplug and kink has anything to do with pride....or needlecrafting
