Her poem is beautiful and encapsulates the inherent racism in gender ideology.

Here is the link to the Twitter thread, which includes her spoken word poem. I highly recommend it: https://twitter.com/EcuadorianMum/status/1547089511280267264

Edited to actually include the link!

It is more powerful spoken aloud, but here is a transcript for anybody who might not be able to listen to the playback right now. I tried to write out the lines/stanzas based on her spoken rhythm, but I can't guarantee this is how it ought to be written.

Gender ideology / It's a white man's game / If you're black, and a woman, and you've fallen for this crap then / I hate to say this, but, you should be ashamed cause / You've been played

They mock us by saying they're the most oppressed cause they put on a dress / and just wanna pee next to me / and somehow that's worse than our history of segregation and slavery / Beaten, raped, torn from our homes / Our history stolen / Forever gone / And they wanna compare that to needing wrong-sex hormones

Do you know what I feel when I hear a white man demand compelled speech? / I feel a crack of the whip on my back / I feel my ancestor's face pushed to the ground with a white master's boot still holding them down / Black women / chained to a stone used as a bed in the back of the plantation / in the purpose-built rape shed

We're used (and considered) as black birthing bodies back then / Now you wanna call them that again / Just to please the white men?

Like I said / This is a white man's shame / You think our cousins in Africa are playing this way? / Demanding you change the words that you use 'cause some dude can no longer handle being a dude? / If you do, you're a fool

Gender ID / Is for the bourgeoisie / The elites / The ones that live such privileged lives they have to make up some strife / Just like Rachel did when she pretended not to be white.

Have you heard how they compare us to men? / Let me say it like this so it sinks in: / If your black mom can be a woman, / Then so can a "him". / You realize how racist that is, right? / It means the default for women is white.

They're using us like they use the LGB / The forced teaming / Using our struggle like it's their own / while insulting us by saying we didn't know what biology was / until a white man came and taught it to us. / "Yes sir, no sir, whatever you say sir."

But someone should've told ya / Those days are over / I ain't got no owner / And I ain't got no crops to pick / And I ain't got no fucks to give / So you ain't about to tell me shit / About what it means to be / A girl / A woman / A her / A she

Those words are mine / They belong to me / And I am free / And I will use my speech any goddamn way I please.

Holy shit, this is wonderful. I'm embroidering this to hang up in my gallery wall

And here is my non-flippant comment - she mentions how black women deal with the erasure of their history. We know how slaves were given their masters names, how children were bought and sold and named according to the whim of the day... a black person in the US may have no real means through with to trace their heritage.

And yet trans people - the most marginalized of all - the most put-upon - the most in danger of being denied the right to exist - will willingly and boastfully erase all the history behind them and forbid anyone to discuss it by declaring it all a "dead name." And it's a game to them, to hide this history. No emotion whatsover for others who might care about the family line.

Now THAT is privilege.

Have to wonder if the immediate ban was partly informed by how liberal she looks. I mean, I know this is just based purely on her artsy/hippie aesthetic, but she's not exactly the Reagonesque Karen they always like to portray TERFs as.

Edit: and I always feel like individuals who they have trouble pigeon-holing as rightwing get the most forceful silencing.

Also because she is black. I feel like that's a factor. She is an inconvenient truth to the TRAs who like to say that all TERFs are white, middle-aged and racist.

I always feel like individuals who they have trouble pigeon-holing as rightwing get the most forceful silencing.

Oh my god, this. I have a lot of progressive aesthetic signifiers (not on purpose, my taste just happens to converge with what's considered progressive) and I've always suspected my inevitable cancellation will be more severe because of this. It's like I'm betraying "the ingroup". (On the other hand, the fact that I'm polyamorous has allowed me to terf out in plain sight for a while, since no one really suspects.)

Wow! I especially love how she tied "black birthing bodies" back to slavery. Such a good point, they really want to go back in time to when women were just livestock for men to breed, not even human.

It's such a crime that this is censored while TIMs threatening women with violence are praised an amplified. I wish someone else would step up and take over now that Musk isn't buying it.

Yeah I was thinking that too, maybe then she'd have to stop tweeting though? It wouldn't look great for the owner to be getting into arguments with other users. It should preferably be a moderate woman though, I don't want some far right guy who allows us "terfs" back but also an increase in misogynistic/racist/conspiracy crap too.

She doesn't get into arguments, I don't think, she states her positions - nobody has to get into it with her or follow her. If "Jack" Dorsey could tweet, then I think JKR owning Twitter could tweet too. Why a moderate woman? Let radfems run the company, why not?

Along with the ‘This Never Happens’ website there should be a collection of all the occasions when Twitter and others have allowed hate and threats to run rampant but curtailed women’s speech.

This is actually a fantastic idea!

I think it might be useful for legislators too - people like Joanna Cherry who’ve already had a go at Twitter over their misogynistic moderation policies but might find it helpful to have a ready made sample of screenshots and examples.

Not a website but there is a lawyer who I follow on Twitter who keeps a list of women who are unfairly banned as well @SamBarber1910. That might be a good starting point. He has a pinned thread with the info.

Using our struggle like it's their own / while insulting us by saying we didn't know what biology was / until a white man came and taught it to us.

I feel like this doesn't get picked up enough. Saying that notions of biological sex didn't exist until colonization is so infantilizing and belittles thousands of non-European cultures that have had "2 sexes" as a guiding pillar for basically all sects of life for millennia.

(Also thanks to Iridescence for the transcription.)

Wow she is amazing. So strong and talented. We live in a time when a black woman speaking about oppression can get censored over white men who want to wear a dress. Let that sink in.

Wow, she's incredible! What a great poem! Twitter is fucking racist AND misogynist for banning her. She spoke nothing but truth!

YES, SIS!!!!

I am sorry Twitter banned her, they love to put BLM in their profiles, but we know the truth.
