Kicking out a woman who is an Anne Lister code breaker! As a lesbian, I really can't stand these Quislings who suck up to a men's rights movement and throw other lesbians under the bus.

"Provoking attendees with bullying or hate speech will not be tolerated." - How is putting "TERF" as her pronouns hate speech? According to TRAs "TERF" is a perfectly acceptable acronym to throw around as an innocent descriptor and not hateful in the slightest. Make it make sense.

Plus, the organization's refusal to respect those pronouns is transphobic, is it not?

Their code of conduct policy is incredibly vague (anyone else struggling to read it?) and self-congratulatory but point number 1 is

acknowledge and respect fellow attendees’ boundaries

Ironic then that they ban a woman whose boundary was "I don't want to display pronouns"

Read through a large number of the replies on the twitter thread, and I especially liked when they started submitting "6-word stories" (my favorite: "Obey. I said Obey. You're blocked."). What's so frustrating is the people pointing out equality act violations or taking the organization to task on not applying their own policies in anything like a reasonable and even-handed manner. But like the proverbial tree falling in the forest, does something constitute a violation if no one has the time/energy/will/finances to bring a suit?

Also the organization periodically responding by robotically repeating the same words without addressing questions (and even blocking questioners) over and over just reminds me so much of what passes for both reporting and discourse these days at all levels. Basically all institutions are Baghdad Bob now.

I have to say, going to that event and using te/rf pronouns is such a power move. I just love it when women act like they no longer give a fuck.

Omg ... Hysterically funny!!! I wish I had the gall to add "te/rf" to my email signature ... Maybe I'll do so right before I retire 🤭
