I'm working on a photo essay about my own experiences with desisting and I was wondering if anyone has done photography based on detransitioners/desisters? Googling it hasn't yielded many results

The Sunday Times had an article up interviewing a photographer who had a similar project and it features some of her portraits. https://archive.vn/soEUS

I realised that I wasn’t trans, and I should never have gone down the medical route.

I think we need to change how the word trans is used. It's not an end point. Trans is the limbo that results when you have a mental disorder that does not allow you to accept your body and the social norms and expectations attached to your sex.

A woman who goes through SRS, she doesn't become a man. She doesn't become something other than a woman. After she goes through her trans period, she just.. stops assuming that label and lifestyle. It's like any other delusion. The person isn't that delusion, they just go through it.

This is such a great point. The language we use really does matter for how these mental health issues are seen and treated
