Sheila is one of my favorite feminist authors if not the one. I see several of her books brought up here but has anyone read the Beauty and Mysogyny? I was introduced to it by following the Korean "tal corset" 4b6t movement, it seems to be one of the most prominent works to the Korean lesbian feminists. Please share your thoughts if you have read it.

Yes, the way she framed the requirements of beauty and femininity as a constant unpaid service to the dominant class was very powerful. There was also a very interesting analysis of misogyny by men in the fashion industry. I've read other stuff on beauty/body positivity, and it usually lacks a radical feminist framework so the authors can't really give a deep analysis other than "beauty expectations", "photoshop" and "fatphobia", which doesn't really explain how this stuff arises, and they also usually hurry to add that lots of people enjoy doing beauty and it can be self-care or self-expression etc.
