Sheila is one of my favorite feminist authors if not the one. I see several of her books brought up here but has anyone read the Beauty and Mysogyny? I was introduced to it by following the Korean "tal corset" 4b6t movement, it seems to be one of the most prominent works to the Korean lesbian feminists. Please share your thoughts if you have read it.

I read it... about 15 or years ago but I quite liked it. I remember having an aha moment with the pornified misogyny of ballet (how the en pointe shoes damage and mutilate women's feet, and how men got off on them, sometimes even because of the damage they caused women). I still use her view on feminine beauty practices as harmful cultural practices (as per the UN) at times.
