They just released two of their awesome older games with female protagonists a few months ago! : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4pIhcFUwLg

I heard these RPGs were aimed at girls especially Rhapsody!

Do note that La Pucelle has a few sexy female designs for some of the playable characters ( and Rhapsody has a female villain with a sexualized design too ) but I do not find them too bothersome or distracting because the games use 2D sprites and we do not really get to see the sexualized art of the female characters outside of some special attacks which the player can avoid using...

I played both of these games back when it was still possible to find reasonably priced original copies. I was SO glad I did because these became rare titles rather quickly (and the DS re-release of Rhapsody didn't include the English songs).

I am so happy to see these titles become accessible once again! La Pucelle is a bit of a slog because of the strategy battle system. But I still liked it. Rhapsody is fun. But it has the inverse problem of being too easy (I get the impression that it was meant for younger players).

Also, Rhapsody's ending was surprisingly touching (I still tear up when I hear the end credits song). I love how the ending...

ended up being about Cornet and her mother despite taking place at her wedding to the prince

Yeah I thought it was really sweet how the story ended up being more about Cornet's bond with her mother than Prince Ferdinand! Cornet's background with her mother is so sad! And yeah Rhapsody was aimed at little girls based on what I heard... I hope they release the Rhapsody sequel with Cornet's daughter!

I hope they release the Rhapsody sequel with Cornet's daughter!

Ditto! I hope these new releases sell well so Nippon Ichi has an incentive to make the sequel available to English speaking audiences
