Pretty much exactly what the title says; I'm looking for anime games where the female characters aren't overly sexualised. Taking from my comment in this post, I avoid anime games on principle due to how many treat their female characters as little more than sex objects. However, I am willing (and encouraged) to be proven wrong.
So by anime games, I am referring to any game of any genre that has an anime art style and/or originated from an east Asian country (so Japan, China, or South Korea). Mods of games that desexualise the content (if those even exist) are also allowed.
This can also be a general discussion on anime games as a whole. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the latest JRPG, for example, whether you liked it or not :)
Hm, I guess it depends on how much male gaze you can handle and what you're interested in.
For example, Yuru Camp (2018) and A Place Further than the Universe (2018) are both cozy shows with all-female casts and little sexualization, but some people don't enjoy the 'cute girls doing cute things' genre because moe is usually designed for the male gaze. Yuru Camp is mostly comfy slice-of-life about high school girls going camping across Japan, while A Place Further than the Universe focuses more on exploring the girls' motivations for visiting the most inhospitable place on earth. Little Witch Academia (2017) is a similar show about schoolgirls, but it's clearly written to be child-friendly but enjoyable for all ages.
If you want something more mature, In this Corner of the World (2016) is easily one of the most beautiful anime movies I've ever watched and a nuanced, poignant depiction of everyday life in wartime Japan. I have certain issues with the nationalism in it, but I'm also particularly sensitive to such things and it's not overt. There's also a number of shows I can think of that have well-written female secondary characters or female characters with a lot of depth but also enough flaws to be unlikable, but I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for.
