Just found this out today that one of my favorite Duolingo characters is being referred to as a " she they " in some versions...
Namely the Spanish version ( which is weird as fuck considering the Spanish language does not really have so called " gender neutral pronouns " the way the English language does with the " singular they " ... Or even nouns and adjectives for that same matter since Spanish nouns and adjectives are ALSO gendered not just the " pronouns " ) ... And of course the character they want to turn into an " enby " is obviously a butch lesbian too... :( : https://duolingo.fandom.com/wiki/Lin
Really sad they are doing this to Lin... They do not include her among the other female characters when celebrating women apparently either due to this apparently... At least it seems to be just a subtle thing rather than an " in our face " kind of thing since the Duolingo courses still seem to be free of genderist nonsense for the time being at least... : https://ovarit.com/test/o/Games/201666/duolingo-is-a-terf/c2858b91-9013-41d9-a11a-f9443cba6c8c#comment-c2858b91-9013-41d9-a11a-f9443cba6c8c
Still sad that Duolingo may not be as gender critical as we thought... :\
