Maybe a stupid question, but does anyone else have trouble growing things in tiny pots? I don't know if it's just a coincidence, or the kinds of plants I've tried... but it seems like I can get things to grow in pots with a 4" diameter just fine... but everything I've tried in my smallest pot (with a 3" diameter and a little under 2.5" depth) has failed to thrive. The things I've put in it have come from little 2" starters.

Do pots this small just not work, even for little succulents? It's such a cute little ceramic pot with a drainage hole, I'd hate to give up on it...

To be fair, jade are insanely forgiving. I have one in the bathroom where I replaced the light bulbs with the cheap LED grow lights in the fixture and often forget to leave the lights on. They're amazing succulents I suggest to everyone on the planet that is an alleged plant killer.

I'll just have to give up on the plant because it can't thrive in my house.

This is a really good point. I have some plants that I just personally cannot keep alive and so I don't even bother. It could be my routines with plants, my home, my pets (two nosey cats and a big dog that literally smells all my plants and "tends" them by licking them regularly), or any other factor...but, if I kill it with my level of knowledge and additional research I never buy that species again unless I believe I got a sick plant at the start.

Sometimes we just aren't inclined to a specific genera and that's okay, we can admire those of others who excel at their care.

Please keep us posted with your progress abd share pictures and information!

Damn it, I didn't know jade plants were so easy. I'm such a plant mom failure... I look at my plants and think... hummm... the only ones that look really healthy are the zz plant, snake plant, jade, kalanchoe panamensis, and oxalis triangularis.

Please don't tell me the kalanchoe panamensis and oxalis triangularis are easy plants... it'll crush me. :P I even have a pothos cutting that's struggling.
