How do you protect your planted and germinating and growing seeds and seedlings from hungry little thieves who come to visit under the moon? I saw digging in my beds where I had planted seeds about 3-4 weeks later just as things were starting to come up. I guess it could have been birds but I suspect a mouse. I am thinking of different strategies to deter him or her, like starting my seeds indoors or maybe covering my outdoor raised beds with some mesh until the babies get a few inches old. I would welcome any pointers or experiences. Thank you.

Some caution needs to be issued with these. They do bother all animals and not just certain specific ones. Depending on the quality of the machine, humans will hear it too. I've been tormented by a certain neigbour who insists on keeping hers on at a frequency almost all humans who aren't above 40 years old can very easily hear and these things can cause hearing damage among other issues. (the tone itself is often quite painful to hear as well)

No shade at you for suggesting it. Just trying to raise some awareness that these things aren't necessarily an innocent and easy quick fix like some people think it is.

(additional info: if you get it, make sure your machine is capable of producing a sound over a 20khz frequency. Anything lower and different groups of humans will absolutely be able to hear it)

Yeah, I just threw it here because I know they are a thing, but I haven't don't much research about it myself. It's good to know that they are not all that. I read they are safer then chemicals and stuff, which makes sense, but I'm also aware that it doesn't necessarily translates to ideal solution.
