I'm not in a super-woke environment and plenty of people around me pretty much only know that trans people exist, but they're extremely uncommon.
A friend ran into the "list of genders" page on Wikipedia and screenshot it to me with a bunch of comments expressing confusion about gender and sexuality ("why is trans-x listed 3 times on this page?" and "why is demisexual a sexuality?")
I'm not publicly TERFy but I guess she just wanted to share the absurdity of it with me. She said something along the lines of "isn't sexuality just you like men, women, both, or neither? Why are there 30 of them here?"
Just felt nice to laugh about it together and realize this is probably just how most people think.
