I just wanna think every single transactivist for being so comically ridiculous— for your obnoxious behavior, poorly constructed messages, and manic public episodes.

Every single time you tell the general population that they can’t read what we write, look up radical feminism, or think counter to you, that makes everything we have to say that much more alluring. More people are thinking about feminism because of you; just not in the way that you had hoped 😂

Hats off, you absolute dolts.

I kept seeing offended TRA Reddit responses to gender atheism saying some variation of “take that shit to Ovarit” and that is how I found out about Ovarit and I’m so glad I did lol.

haha I'm jealous because I only found this place because of Wikipedia. Ironically, it was probably TRAs who put the link there because they wanted everyone to know where the new bastion of evil is.

“Please tell me where that awful place is so I know to never ever go there…”

A few years ago I was lecturing my conservative mother about pronouns and gendersouls, saying “trans women are women”, and generally assuming that no one could ever possibly misrepresent their identity or their motivations, ever.

I thought of myself as sexually liberated and kink-positive.

I am bisexual and generally vote democrat.

It wasn’t right wing nutjobs who changed my mind about the trans and kink stuff. It was the shameless degeneracy, the self-unaware unhinged tantrums and the gross affected performative specialness that completely turned me off of the “most oppressed people on the planet.”

This was before half of all the rapists and harassers in my community transed themselves. That really clinched it.

RIGHT! Right! Me too! I was totally fine with people being trans, but then I started hearing about TIMs shutting down female-only spaces and the mantra "TWAW" went viral, and I was like, wait, what? So I started looking into it, wondering if I was just looking at things wrong; was there really a way in which TWAW is true or should be considered true? I went into the inquiry with a completely open mind on that point -- I mean, I instinctively thought bullshit, that's not true, but I was open to the very real possibility that I was wrong.

So I went on Twitter and various other places to talk with TRAs and GC people about it, I read sources on both sides, and I very quickly saw that there was:

  • only one side on which anyone was throwing tantrums and hurling slurs, rape threats and death threats in response to reasonable questions,

  • only one side where people consistently posted claims that were mutually exclusive or easily disproven by science and then tried to gaslight or guilt-trip anyone who politely challenged them,

  • only one side that made offensive claims about how Super Oppressed and Super Special they were (and flounced off in full tantrum mode if anyone pointed out the um HOLOCAUST or um SLAVERY as examples of greater oppression),

  • only one side that displayed zero empathy for women's fear of rape, women prisoners raped by "trans" convicts, or indeed any women's issues at all; meanwhile I was expressing great sympathy for trans issues, suggesting that trans convicts should be housed on their own blocks to protect both them AND female prisoners, and getting shouted down for the "actual violence" of that solution, because apparently it's more important to make TIM feel like we accept them as women than it is to protect actual women from being raped...

Omg don't remind me about the times i lectured people about pronouns 🙄 peak cringe, yikes...

Welcome! Glad you made it out. I was a TRA once, too, and this comment made me feel personally attacked (in a good way lol).

I became a rad fem because someone called me a TERF for saying you can't literally change your sex or something innocuous like that. I had used all the right buzzwords and pronouns but it just wasn't enough I suppose.

So yep, thanks TRAs. I never would have found r/GC or radical feminism without you!

So true, if I had a nickel for every time I read/heard a woman saying something like “I didn’t even know what radical feminism was until I was called a TERF” I …well I wouldn’t be rich, but I’d be able to afford a nice latte at Starbucks.

ikr? I'm seeing it more and more. people are drawn to a kerfuffle, and the TRAs are their own worst enemy, and so our allies

Amen. While I had had some vague notion of radical feminism before I first encountered the acronym "TERF" (not directed at me), feminist theory was not something that greatly interested me. Seeing the term bandied about really piqued my interest. Thank you for introducing Andrea Dworkin, Sheila Jeffreys, and other brilliant feminists to me, TRAs!

Yesss I hadn't even heard of radical feminism until the people who sexually assaulted me started calling me a TERF :') & i finally did some research & realized that..yes, in fact i am!!!

It was about 2 years ago today that I found the gender critical subreddit (ETA I think it was SaidIT by this time). The peak trans thread that asked all of these questions that I had been taught we must never ask because TWAW, end of story. But I found myself really wanting to see answers to them from the TRAs. All they ever offered were "That question is hate speech/literal violence!" to questions that really should have been simple to answer if they had any leg to stand on.

And as that peak trans thread said, I indeed got ready to add my own story! Thanks, you complete fuckups 😂

TRAs really do try to shut down any type of critical thinking and that's a very dangerous thing to do. They want you to take their word as gospel and never question it. You know something's not right when that happens.

Hats off to the shit bags who harass and threaten JKR on the daily. You've peaked more people than you can possibly imagine.

I love that that they complain so much about how hateful JKR is, while simultaneously spending all their time hating her. Or demanding trans rights, but not respecting women's rights. All the things they complain about, they seem to be doing themselves.

I would never have bothered with the Cormoran Strike series if they hadn't shrilled their outrage over it. Good books.

I’m a fan! I’ve been trying to stay away from all the posts and articles about it cause I don’t want a single thing about the new book to be spoiled. Terribly curious and great full it’s so long

Truth.

I would not be here but for the reverberations of trans rights, and their loud and obnoxious attempt to takeover womanhood.

"Does a chicken commit suicide?"

-Great Moments in Queer Theory

Yes, and can a chicken cry?

Haha brilliant! And:

“I don’t know what a woman is because I’m not a woman.”

“Ok - do you know what a cat is?”

Someone sincerely asks this question in Matt Walsh's documentary. It's one of the moments that makes it worth putting up with looking at Matt Walsh's face for ninety minutes. ETA: Sorry to be vague, LOL, it's just one of my fave examples of the TRA batshittery. "Comically ridiculous" indeed!

Oh! 😂 I’ve not yet watched it.. gotta say up my strength, ha! I’ll keep an ear out
