This is fucking enraging. He never had to go through with any of this at all.

This cannot be all that our future generations of young gay men have to look forward to. The homophobia. The medical abuse. The butchering.

Not to mention the mother casually mentioning how she’s going to forcefully put a dilator in said son’s neovagina. Sounds like raping your kid.

If Jazz doesn't want to do it and Jeanette yells at him until he relents, it IS rape! If someone came at me in my bedroom with a dildo and forced me to use it, I would feel violated.

[–] bornwithovaries 33 points (+33|-0)

I mean I get the concern that he could develop serious health issues from this but can she think of no other way to address the issue, since they can't unbutcher him?

That poor kid. That poor, poor kid.

If Jazz was old enough at 3 to be believed that he was a girl, he should be able to make the decision at 20 whether or not to dilate. Apparently some men who do this procedure opt not to dilate because they don’t ever plan on using the vagina for sex.

The mother doesn’t trust him to make his own choices at 20, but trusted him as a baby. It’s so fucking wrong on so many levels.

I really do wonder about Münchausen Syndrome by Proxy with these mothers.

She's threatening to rape her child and in the background there's funny tinkly music, like it's a comedic moment or something. WTF.

That sickened me, too. Like, they all think its cute that Jeanette threatens to rape Jazz with dildos if he doesn't obey her.

This is how you get serial killers

[–] bellatrixbells 56 points (+57|-1)

I thought a neovagina was literally a vagina.

It's weird though, mine doesn't close up if I don't shove a dildo into it every night.

This lady is arguably worse than Mama June.

[–] PortiaVenezia 33 points (+33|-0)

It's not every night. It's multiple times a day

[–] kalina 20 points (+20|-0)

and usually described as very painful. Like I honestly cannot imagine having to shove something up my vagina multiple times a day under pain or it closes forever. What a miserable life

I would just let it close up. Getting laid is NOT worth all that trouble!! Especially if, like Jazz, one has no sexual desire/function to begin with

To be fair some of them can stop dilating after a number of years and it stays "open". I assume because enough scar tissue has built up—it seems highly dependent on what kind of scar tissue you make.

[–] HessaHein 53 points (+53|-0)

Funny how Jazz was praised as a success story for so long. This is just child abuse on tape.

[–] Amareldys 37 points (+37|-0)

Why does she think America needs to know this?

[–] bornwithovaries 33 points (+33|-0)

I'm actually sort of glad we know. Otherwise this shit would all be happening in secret. Maybe this way he's got a shot at getting some actual help.

Someone needs to remind him he's a legal adult now.

[–] pennygadget 5 points (+5|-0)

Someone needs to remind him he's a legal adult now.

I think the blockers combined with being endlessly coddled stunted his brain development. On the show, he behaves more like a spoiled child than a young adult

[–] worried19 35 points (+35|-0)

Jazz was first brought to a gender therapist at 3 years old, labeled trans by doctors, was parroting "I have a girl brain in a boy body" at 7 for the camera (prompted by mom), was given estrogen at 11, and had this botched vaginoplasty at 17.

All of which took place while Jazz was below the age of medical consent in Florida. It's criminal what happened, and no one will ever face any legal consequences for what they did to that innocent child.

On one hand, I’m flabbergasted that this is even on TV. On the other, I’m trying to see a silver lining in the fact that this is being so meticulously documented. I watched this clip and I feel this will be used in a future lawsuit....

[–] worried19 43 points (+43|-0)

It would be horribly painful for Jazz to come to an honest realization of what happened when he was a little boy. It would be almost too awful for Jazz to want to detransition at this point in time, given that Jazz doesn't even have genitals anymore. There's no way to go back.

Jazz is a pure victim in all this. I don't even care about Jazz's potential for helping our side. I just hope Jazz is at peace and will someday be able to start an independent life away from home, out of the media limelight and apart from family control. That relationship with the mother is not healthy.

You’re 100% correct that Jazz is the victim here. I can’t even imagine how he would begin to process what was done to him by his mother. I’m frightened of what could happen to him during that process. He should have been better protected, no question.

The mother herself is not healthy. These are not the actions of a stable, sane individual

[–] ArmyofMe 15 points (+15|-0)

Jazz never had mature genitals. The medication prevented that. It’s such a horrible story.

[–] questioningtw 4 points (+4|-0)

I just wanted to say, holy crap that is awful. What does it say about our society when we are ok with a parent speaking publically about extremely personal matters? Why are we so okay with parents pushing their children to transition and especially doing so so publically! And yet, some how we are the bad guys here.

[–] salty-tomorrow 25 points (+25|-0)

I just watched that video too. There’s no way this does not count as child abuse AND medical abuse. That TIM surgeon was slightly horrifying.

Ha! Just slightly?

That comment about how Jazz could be a porn star with all the photos taken of his neovagina? I mean, I have a dark sense of humor and that was just 🤮

[–] lucrecia 32 points (+32|-0)

I just don't understand how people are cheering this on. What violence wouldn't they cheer on?

[–] Seven 28 points (+28|-0)

This is so scary.... i know the dubbing director of jazz’s show in my country and she is a very pro tra. She watched all, and she keeps defending this ideology. This doesn’t look successful to me.

[–] MakeThatDough 27 points (+27|-0) Edited

mental. illness. who cares if his neo-vagina closes up? why is the mother so pre-occupied?! the $$$ investment? pretty sure the show paid for it.

[–] pennygadget 32 points (+32|-0)

Even if Jazz's family had to pay for it,, they were rich before pimping out their son. So losing the $$$ is no big deal.

The only "benefit" to keeping Jazz's wound open is being able to use it to fuck. He would survive if it closed up (some TIMs opt for that because dilation is too painful and they can't enjoy having sex with it anyway). So...yeah. That adds a creepy dimension to Jeanette's need to make Jazz dilate.

[–] sapphireaqua 27 points (+27|-0)

Jazz has said on the show that he pretty much got no interest in sex, like sex is not a thing for him. I am willing to bet Janette will somehow convince Jazz he got to fuck using some logic like "we paid for that neo vagina and went through dilating and dildos so that you got a hole down there, you must use it now"

[–] bornwithovaries 52 points (+52|-0)

Of course he's got no interest in sex. They never let his reproductive system develop. Fucking ghouls.

[–] pennygadget 35 points (+35|-0)

The reality show keeps hiring "boyfriends" for Jazz and none of them have worked out. I think the only reason Jazz wants to date boys is because he was told "thats what normal girls do". He honestly thinks his sexuality will magically come to life when he meets the right person. He has the same view of sex/sexuality as a young child

[–] MakeThatDough 21 points (+21|-0)

Yeah truly strange. I couldn't put a tampon in when I was younger. Did my mom ask me to dilate? No. The mother is 100% psychotic. A trait that usually occurs more frequently in men, especially in this area lol

[–] QueenSansa 24 points (+24|-0) Edited

Sadly, munchausen by proxy is far more common in mothers. It is absolutely no coincidence that most of the parents campaigning for the transing of their children are mothers.

[–] vulvapeople 8 points (+8|-0)

I don't think it's about money. Jeanette is desperate to prove that all the choices she's made for her son were good and correct. The sunk costs are way more valuable than mere money.

That family was rich before pimping out Jazz. Its all about social currency for Jeanette and all the other enablers

This is a transcript of a clip from the show. Make of it what you will. (I think this 'therapy' is nonsense but it was still interesting what he said)

On Tuesday evening’s episode of I Am Jazz, the 17-year-old TLC star and LGBTQ rights activist participates in past life regression therapy — a form of hypnosis and attendant talk therapy that essentially suggests that we carry evidence (emotional, psychic and occasionally physical) of our past lives into our current one — which brings up some of the negative feelings she’s currently battling.

During the session, Jennings lays down under a blanket with her eyes closed. Her therapist then instructs her to imagine looking up into the sky and spotting a big, white cloud. “I’m asking that cloud to move and carry you back into time and space. I want you to tell me the very first thing that you see or that you notice,” she says in a PEOPLE exclusive sneak peek.

Jazz says that her name is Cal, who is walking in a “town center” and is feeling hungry. “I don’t have a home,” Jennings says about Cal. “I don’t think my family wants me.”

When the therapist presses about “why” Cal doesn’t feel wanted, Jennings says, “I’m gay. They caught me with a guy and kicked me out,” which made Cal feel “rejected.”

“My dream was to hold his hand in this market and now I’m just alone in the market. I’m hungry — I haven’t eaten,” a visibly emotional Jennings says.

The therapist then instructs them to “drift and float forward to the last day of Cal’s life,” when Jennings envisions Cal “sitting on a rocking chair. I was never able to live the life that I wanted. I don’t want to do this.”

When the therapist asks, “You don’t wanna do what?” Jennings tells her, “I don’t want to live anymore.”

“So what was he hungry for that day in the market?” her therapist asks.

“He was hungry to be accepted,” says Jennings.

When asked what Jennings is “hungry for,” the teen immediately begins to choke up: “She’s still hungry to be accepted.”

I think "past life regression therapy" can be very telling of what people are actually feeling but don't feel free to own up to. If they're allowed to pin it onto another character who's them-but-not-really-them, then they can be more open. He says pretty clearly here that he's gay, has no home, just wanted to be accepted, can never live the life he wanted, and doesn't want to do it anymore. How else can this be interpreted?

[–] drdee 2 points (+2|-0)

A friend of mine did it once, and the question she asked herself was 'why is my unconscious telling me this story?'
