The first sentence of the first critical response:

Funny how 'hysteria' is always the word men reach for first when anything involving the concerns of women or children is brought up. Same shit, different century.

of course the root of the word hysteria is the greek word for uterus (hystera?) So I guess the comment is pretty apt - this dude is depressed about seeing people with uteruses getting airspace. Cool.

I liked the article a lot though.

a note: sex is not mutable in sequential hermaphrodites either. The body of a SH itself is mutable, yes, but the sex the organism has is still one of two possible, with no functioning in-betweens. Producing two gametes. Binary. (Because this was mentioned as an "exception" in the article.)
