This is a women-centered, radical feminist oriented circle to discuss gender from a critical, feminist perspective.
The Sitewide Rules and Sitewide Guidelines are both enforced here. Please read them before posting!
This circle is especially for discussions about gender and transgender ideology/politics. Please use /o/WomensLiberation is for discussions about other feminist topics. /o/Activism is for calls to action, including petitions and fundraisers, and /o/FeministEvents is for posting events.
This circle is focused on articles, news articles, and discussion posts.
Please do not directly link to misogynistic content to start discussions about it.
Most images belong in other circles, as do examples of individual trans activists doing off-the-wall things, as do some news subjects and many personal posts that aren't political:

Feminism is the movement to liberate women from patriarchy. We stand up for the rights of women to control our own bodies as individuals and to control women-only spaces as a class.
Women are adult human females. We do not believe that men can become women by 'feeling' like women or 'identifying' as women. We condemn the erasure of females and female-only spaces, the silencing of critical thinking, the cancelling of feminists and critics, the denial of biological reality and of sex-based oppression. We oppose the 'cotton ceiling' and the pressure on lesbians to have sex with men. Women are oppressed to exploit their biological sex characteristics, and women have a right to a movement that is about their own liberation from that oppression. We resist the redefinition of both "women" and "feminism" to make them serve men.
"Women do not decide at some point in adulthood that they would like other people to understand them to be women, because being a woman is not an ‘identity.’ Women’s experience does not resemble that of men who adopt the ‘gender identity’ of being female or being women in any respect. The idea of ‘gender identity’ disappears biology and all the experiences that those with female biology have of being reared in a caste system based on sex." –Sheila Jeffreys, Gender Hurts
"Men often react to women’s words—speaking and writing—as if they were acts of violence; sometimes men react to women’s words with violence. So we lower our voices. Women whisper. Women apologize. Women shut up. Women trivialize what we know. Women shrink. Women pull back. Most women have experienced enough dominance from men—control, violence, insult, contempt—that no threat seems empty." –Andrea Dworkin, Intercourse

Great effort!! I like it, but personally I find the long/thin style font really hard to read/differentiate, as well as the variation in fonts makes it hard to focus. I think it needs to be a simpler, bold font, and perhaps one font used for the whole thing, just with different sizes and bold/unbolded, italicized/unitalicized. Helvetica is always nice.
I came here to say the same thing. I think if we're widely sharing a thing for common use, the legibility of the font is a really important thing to have.
Here's a Helvetica version. I don't log onto Ovarit very often, so sorry for the delay.
This is great! Thank you.
You're welcome!
Copy paste and change the font etc. I couldn't copy the stubs at the bottom though for some reason:
Like Men in Women’s Spaces? You’ll love the Equality Act. The EqualityAct — which is in dangerof passing both the U.S. Houseof Representatives and the U.S. Senate — states: “(with respect to gender identity) an individual shall not be denied access to a shared facility, including a restroom, a locker room, and a dressing room, that is in accordance with the individual's gender identity.” and “employment, if, in a situation in which sex is a bona fide occupational qualification, individuals are recognized as qualified in accordance with their gender identity.” The Equality Act defines “gender identity” as “the gender-related identity, appearance, mannerisms, or other gender-related characteristics of an individual, regardless of the individual’s designated sex at birth.” We cannot legislate“mannerisms and appearance”(never mind“other”)! Under The Equality Act, men and boys would be permitted entry into ALL spaces currently designated as single sex (including locker room showers), upon the mere declaration of a “gender identity.” Men would be given positions set aside for women and involving the intimate care of women and girls. This would mean that rape victims could not request to be seen by a female professional. Gender ≠ Sex Calls, letters, and emails have been shown to be effective in influencing legislation. Tell your Representative and your Senators to vote“NO”on any Equality Act that includes gender identity. The Capitol Switchboard Operator can connect you with all three. Just call (202) 224-3121
This is great! I can think of so many places where it'd be good to put it up in a bathroom stall or something where people can privately look at it... malls, Target, college campuses, libraries, etc (unfortunately, a lot of those places are probably closed or very low traffic right now).
Good ideas! They're good inside covered bus stops, too, in urban areas (e.g., parks) where people are always posting signage on utility poles and bulletin boards. (The utility pole thing might not be tolerated everywhere, but in some cities, the poles end up covered with all kinds of posters and whatnot.)
That's fab! Would you mind if I made an amended one for the UK?
Thank you! I wouldn't mind at all.
Thank you so much for creating this, it's great :) love to see people spreading the word!
Good work! Love the stubs at the bottom too.
Thanks!
This is a great idea! I second the other person about the font, but I'm wondering if there's a graphic designer here who could take your text and convert it into a nice visual package? I like this a LOT, by the way, other than the font thing. Way cheaper and more local than taking out billboards in DC!
Nice job! Straight to the point.
This is awesome! Thanks!
"Tired of looking for gender on dating apps?
Gender never leads to sex. Bodies have sex, not gender.
The Equality Act makes it legal to descriminate against both sexes based on gender stereotypes.
Don't let your legislators vote to place women into men's prisons and men into women's sports.
Cosmetic surgery is not a civil right. Sterilization is not sex education."
You don't need the two bolded quotes just define gender identity from the equality act.
"We cannot legislate mannerisms and appearance" is a great line. "The federal government" or "Congress" instead of "We" might be more specific. Though "We" makes people think of "we, the people..."
Tell your legislator to vote no on any act that includes gender identity is great information.
The line at the top which includes the equality act is in danger of passing in the US is not necessary or could be made simpler.
I know nothing about design, but the font looks nice.
No, you didn't ask for this, and it would be illegal for me to put political messaging up on a flier in public spaces where I am right now, but I am American.
Oooh neat I'm tempted to throw some up and see if it makes the news for transphobia! I bet it will!
I’d be careful who sees you post this somewhere. I guess with the pandemic and all you can wear a mask, but there are surely cameras in many places and if it’s a place you frequent just be safe and wear a hood or something too :)
