  • SCOTUS overturning Roe v Wade...
  • the rise to prominence of the Christian right
  • Reddit banning TIF and SJIA
  • Cloudflare and more banning KiwiFarms
  • you can't say "groomer" or "cringe" anymore
  • you can't say that you can't say neopronouns anymore anymore
  • all of these deplatformings setting a negative precedent for our future as radfems
  • my office adding gender-neutral restrooms
  • some of my older friends going nonbinary or trans
  • the Ukraine invasion
  • perhaps unlikely, but possibly a Taiwan invasion

With all the bad news this year, how about some positivity for a change?

There seems to be some indication of the regular population beginning to peak, like with TIMs in women's sports. At least it's something because your list is quite bleak

It's not just "my list", it's reality.

Yes it’s reality, but one side of it.

I’ve followed GC movement for over ten years now, and felt late to the party then (UK, we’ve had this going on longer I think). Sometimes only loosely, sometimes deep in the middle with stop self ID meet ups & all the coordinated campaigns from the GC grass roots groups and networks we have developed here.

I didn’t really think there was much hope self ID would be stopped, and it still might not be, but we have made v real headway now. This year especially there have been real solid changes and it’s been in msm, with politicians no longer cowed into TRA ass kissing. Big organisations beginning to listen, etc. I’ve been quietly fighting this, sometimes dropping back because it feels so hopeless, with no real hope all this time. And finally there are many big events that make it look like there’s real hope.

I know that’s here, not other countries right now (although Holland, Finland and Sweden have also changed things) but it will have impact elsewhere in time.

When trans activist bullshit goes to the ballot, voters REALLY are not having it.

In Chile, there was a plebiscite (referendum vote) yesterday on whether to ratify a new constitution for the country.

The new constitution had lots of progressive (as in, actually progressive) provisions in it, and until THIS year the political left had seen rising popularity—the current president, a 36-year-old leftist, was elected in Dec 2021 in a head to head runoff with echoes of US two-party politics.
If the new constitution had gone to a vote in December 2021, nine short months ago, people likely would have voted to ratify it.

Enter 2022. The left messaging, and the constitutional campaign, has been more and more and more about twaaaahh!ns "«'rights'»"! Me me me me me! Menstruators, birth givers, etc. wHy U mAd iNcLuSiOn CoStS nOtHiNg
to the point where that's what tons of Chileans have learned to associate with the current leftist government—and more importantly, the obnoxiousness of TRAs ended up screwing their own aims of trying to get laws passed in stealth. 2022 saw random Chileans start talking about the toxic horrors of twaaaahh!ns "«'rights'»" and realizing exactly what selfID (which was in the proposed constitution) would entail, especially for Women and kids.

Chileans went to the polls yesterday and flushed that shit down the toilet by a margin of almost thirty percentage points (63%-37%).

Felicidades. ¡Viva el sentido común! Some of the articles looked good. But the others, ufff.

Mostly Europe--

--Bell --Cass --Braverman --Truss --Finland, Sweden, France --Pogust --Florida standing up to FDA --Ovarit still standing!

Who are Bell, Cass, Braverman, Truss, and Pogust?

Keira Bell, public voice for young detrans Women and the GC cause more generally

Dr. Hilary Cass's report documenting the failings and overreaches of the Tavistock clinic, which led directly to the decision to close it

Suella Braverman, I think attorney general(?) of the UK who has taken strong positions against compelled speech and erosion of single sex facilities in British schools, esp in a recent speech

Liz Truss, chosen to take Boris Johnson's place as UK PM... @watcheratthegates will have to say whether this is about something Ms. Truss actually did and/or said or whether it's just being glad that she isn't Penny Mordaunt (who has a bad, bad history of echoing twaw and other TRA talking points)

Pogust Goodhead is the law firm that's assembling thousands of wronged kids and their parents to launch a truly epic class-action lawsuit against the Tavistock trust.

Keira Bell, detransitioned young women who bravely tried to get GIDS to admit in court that she had not been able to consent to her treatment there; lost in the Supreme Court, but her case helped draw attention to the clinic's many flaws.

Not related to:
David Bell, courageous GIDS whistelblower:

Hillary Cass, author of an official review of GIDS which recommended closing it and opening regional clinics for trans-identifying youth that would offer treatment all their psychological problems at once.
https://cass.independent-review.uk/publications/interim-report/
Suella Braverman, Tory AG, gave a fantastic speech about rights and equality:

Liz Truss, new Conservative PM in the UK, clearly has sympathy with basic radfem tenets (two sexes; women have rights as a biological class; police are far too "woke").
Pogust Goodhead is a law firm in the UK that is now seeking clients of GIDS who want to sue for medical negligence:

ahhaha I typed that list on my phone while walking, i must have started literally seconds after you submitted your post

I'm hopeful the US has overreached this time and we might be on the verge of a more multipolar world where the rest of the planet is no long so totally America's lapdog. So I see optimism in geopolitics, but horrified at the human price being paid because of this war, and hoping like hell it doesn't go nuclear.

where the rest of the planet is no long so totally America's lapdog

Oh, I like the sound of that. Both politically and socially.
