So without being too specific, one of my ongoing projects at work relates to writing for kids. This month's topic was on the human body, so in the list of fun facts I added "Women have XX chromosomes, and men have XY!"

Got approved for publication and a few thousand copies have made their way to the clients. With as much gender ideology as kids are exposed to, it feels good to put some facts out there!

That is great news but at the same time I can't fucking believe it's come to this

It’s a shame that stating a biological fact has become a political statement but I’m happy that you were able to tell them actual facts without being called tRaNsPhObIc

I get so friggin tired of the transphobic shit. I'm progressive as hell. I can't believe that refusing to say that transwomen are biological women means I'm a queerphobic asshole

I don't care what ppl wear or who they fuck! Like couldn't care less.

Wow, talk about low level biology 😂😂😂

It's ridiculous that this is where we're at. 🙁

Thanks for making your courageous statement and for sharing it with us.

I agree with other comments of course its ridiculous that stating a simple fact should take courage, but at the moment, especially in publishing, it does.

Honestly I'd never have imagined "sex chromosomes determine sex" would be a controversial statement but I was legitimately worried about the backlash.
