i can understand that technically the teacher is straddling the line on what it means to be trans, as in i guess we’ll now have to publicly debate how big you want your tits to be before it goes from dysphoria to exhibitionism HOWEVER, that’s what creeps do, they like to push boundaries to see what they can get away with,* and we may have to institute the “i know it when i see it” rule when it comes to public exhibitionism

So, they want trans gatekeepers? Are they also gonna be male, or do us women have a say? How about, if you have XY chromosomes, you're male. That's easy, isn't it?

It reminds me of the "you were never really trans" line that gets thrown at detransitioners. It's not the gotcha they think it is because women and men who were prescribed blockers and hormones, and given surgery had to go through at least a few therapists and doctors--the supposed experts. And if the experts can't tell who's "really" trans, that's an argument for more gatekeeping. It's also a reason for TRAs to condemn, rather than celebrate, purveyors of DIY bathtub hormones and places like egg_irl. But then, the trans crowd never has been good at considering long-term consequences before acting.
