I have always found it frustrating how TIMs (MtFs) will claim that they do not experience male privilege because when they are presumed to be male it is misgendering (which is a form of violence). However, most amazingly, I came across this post sharing this contradictory opinion from a TIM wherein he goes on about how he can't have male privilege because of misgendering etc etc but then actually admits that he sometimes lets himself pass as male (which is sooo horrible) for safety reasons. I really just feel like if we are at the point where these people are actually admitting that they have male privilege, while still denying it at the same time, we have certainly reached a level of La-La-Land ideology that is hopefully about to crack? Do you think people like this are hurting their cause, or do you think it makes no difference because people will just keep believing what they want to believe? I honestly just don't know. If you would like to see the post, here it is. This isn't the original post (it is someone who is critical of it), so clicking on it won't give any traffic to the dumbass who originally made the post.

Anyway, I am just looking for other opinions on where we are at in this whole debate, because when I see things like this I think we must be near the breaking point. But maybe not?

Wow this male privileged man is a solid moron.

Perhaps I'm just a massive cynic but I seriously doubt we're near any sort of breaking point. The liberals are not ever going to let this go because this will always primarily affect women and liberals, much like conservatives, no matter how much they claim they care about women, do not give a shit about us.

I mean, for fucks sake, we've asked for such basic shit and they can't give it to us. Even just having them acknowledge the fundamental reason feminism ever existed for any reason in the first place -- due to sex based oppression -- is absolutely impossible.

Yeah, I am inclined towards cynicism myself most of the time, but today I was just wondering if maybe the backlash against this nuttery will actually swing the pendulum back towards sanity at least for a while. I think what HAS to happen is for straight men to get made to feel more and more uncomfortable. Like, if the trans activists start demanding that Hollywood cast TIMs as all the female love interests in straight movies, I feel like straight dudes are just not gonna stand for that after a while. It is depressing but I just feel like it will only change when straight men are inconvenienced because people are actually still more intimidated by them. Women just get trampled on.
