There is something extra insane about a senior political appointee doing a crime that is so…small time. And letting the whole thing be captured on surveillance video, when he should know good and well airports are teeming with cameras. What a spectacularly embarrassing person.

We all know he won't serve any jail time. But I'm happy to see him named and shamed for this bizarre, creepy behavior. This weirdo could easily afford a swanky suitcase and designer women's clothing on his own. But the sick fuck wanted the thrill of sniffing clothes belonging to an actual woman.

Law enforcement observed Brinton using the luggage during at least two other trips to Washington, D.C., on Sept. 18 and Oct. 9.

So there goes the possibility that he took the suitcase by accident. Tired or not, EVERYONE checks the tags on their luggage before leaving the carousel. It makes no sense that he'd be too tired to read it but not too tired to tear it off

But the news reports say Brinton didn't check a bag of his own, so he didn't mix up his own bag with the one he took. He had no reason to be in the baggage carousel and claim area at all. He must have gone there for the express purpose of stealing someone else's luggage, namely a bag belonging to a woman.

Not to mention the fact it was a Vera Bradley bag, a brand known for loud paisley prints. Even if he had checked luggage, there’s no way to mistake a bag like that for your own. Seems obvious that he selected the victim’s bag based on how obviously feminine it looked.
