I feel like this is the nth time I've heard Ellen whining this week across various articles and interviews. I'm legit getting a negative knee jerk reaction to it lol. Like we get it your life is soooooo hard. No one else is suffering like you are. Poor widdle you.

If she's so happy with herself now, why does she look sick and dead inside in every picture of her post-announcement? She looks like a strong breeze could knock her over.

She's a celebrity. Millions of people she's never met know her name, face and work. What the fuck does she know about feeling like you don't exist?

She talks about the awful burden of being expected to be feminine and perform for the male gaze and it's like...you're so close! She almost had it. Unfortunately she interpreted the damage done by patriarchy as something wrong with herself to be surgically "fixed".

…transphobia in our society shuts so many people out. Think of all the individuals that don’t get a chance to thrive, that don’t get a chance to have a future, that don’t get a chance to share their magic with us.

Honestly, I can’t even with her. She doesn’t sound like a person any longer. She just parrots the trans doctrine repeatedly. What really happened to her to make her so vulnerable to brainwashing? When is the media going to be finished with her?

I guess she found a way to kick her career into overdrive.

I think she hardcore internalizes the social issue du jour until she can't think rationally about it. Same thing when she did that borderline hysterical interview about Jussie Smollet - there was no "hey, maybe parts of this story are a bit wonky", she just cried and gesticulated about how evil society is. There are plenty of Tumblr kids like this, but they have the benefit of either growing up and/or not being given a national platform.

That Smollet reaction should have discredited her and made people realize she has a propensity for dramatic overreach.

I think a lot of actors don't really have a personal identity, that's why they like being actors. I feel bad for her though, it must be hard to realize that the thing you love doing wants to bin you the second you hit 30, to make room for the newest 20 year old to pair with the middle-age leading man.

Good point. In that sense, I feel deeply sorry for her, though I wish she could find a way to deal with it that involved some sort of solidarity with other female actors facing the exact same career-ending bullshit.

I guess she was just floating about as an untethered, non-entity for the last 34 years.

I feel so bad for her, she looked very fragile and sick in that interview

[–] normcore 8 points (+8|-0)

I feel like she's internalized the "trans people are suffering" idea so much that she can't believably pull off the "happy authentic self!" thing as well. She's trying to have it both ways, but the suffering wins. Kind of like how Oscars bait is always depressing tragedies instead of fun popcorn films.

Yes, and there is a stark contrast between her as she presents coming out as trans and as she presented coming out as a lesbian. I get the feeling that something bad happened that was the last straw for her. Am I the only one concerned about where this is going?

The Oprah interview is messing with my brain. I really wish one of those body language analysis YouTubers will analyze it, though I'm not super optimistic that they would. She looks sad, tired, gaunt, and even almost like she's on drugs? (anti psychotics?) She moves her mouth without sounds coming out, she makes awkward hand motions, and then she seems to be crying, with a genuinely sad facial expression, before uttering "Tears of joy", as if to convince herself. It's so creepy, like watching a hostage video. I feel so much for her right now.

A hostage video is a great way to put it. I'm torn because the message she is sending women and girls is that you need to be a boy to not wear dresses, which sets us back in so many ways. But she also seems really, really unwell and struggling.

Peak of Delusional behaviour being termed as stunning and brave . Oscar nominated - Privileged life - Still says “Able to just Exist” Now , as if previously someone was holding Elliot hostage

[–] IrishTheFrenchie 13 points (+13|-0)

I guess having a loving relationship and marriage to a woman wasn't "existing".

So now she's not only erased her (soon to be ex's) sexual orientation from lesbian to "straight", she's erased their relationship to nothing because she "didn't exist" before.

They always say anti-LGBTQ laws even when it is really anti-trans.

[–] Luckystar 8 points (+8|-0)

Not even anti-trans! Pro women. Nobody is being "banned" from sports, we are trying to keep the female protected category exclusively for females.

It'd be like if a bunch of able bodied people tried to compete in the Paralympics, or if a bunch of adults tried to compete in Little League Baseball, and claimed they were "banned from sports" when they were denied. You're not banned ffs! Just play in your own category!
