I have nothing against this woman, and I encourage her to keep speaking out. But I don't think this particular argument that she supports is any good. It just doesn't work.

She lip syncs to a rap song

What do you call a man in dress? GORGEOUS. What do you call a man in women's sports? THE WOKEST. What do you call a man in camouflage and fights for everybody's freedoms overseas? HOMELESS.

I mean, it's catchy, and I get it. But she set herself up to be disbelieved, here.

First of all, no one believes that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were about FREEDOM! anymore. Not even hardcore conservatives. It's why you don't see George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, or Donald Rumsfeld (before he died two years ago) or any of that crowd welcome at RNCs. The average person knows the wars were a scam.

The bigger reason why the logic doesn't flow is that if you asked the average liberal, even one who was against the wars since 2001, if homeless vets should be given homes? Nearly all would say yes.

But say the words "given free housing" and guess who pitches a fit and starts throwing around accusations of socialism?

Conservatives have the longest history of being against resources that would help the homeless, and most people are aware of this. Pundits can say this reputation is undeserved, but whenever a pundit says "We would have fixed American homelessness if we didn't spend money on migrants/bank bailouts/Ukraine/school lunches/Obamacare" leftists laugh, and independents feel awkward.

Transgenderism and veteran homelessness simply don't have anything to do with each other. Different mechanisms are making them happen: the collective trans lobby exists because they have the social clout, financial clout, and the will to make it happen. With homeless vets, people in power who could help largely don't have the will.

Nonetheless, veteran homelessness is down by about 55% since 2010. https://www.va.gov/HOMELESS/pit_count.asp About 14,000 vets are unsheltered homeless. A high number but one that continues to go down. So something IS being done about it. Why it can't be cleared up more quickly would take some details, and those details might not be flattering to certain local politicians.

Veteran homelessness was a problem long before the transgender explosion.

You could also argue that if we didn't spend so much money on public transport, we could house homeless veterans. If we didn't spend money on food stamps for undeserving libt*rds, we could house homeless veterans. If we didn't spend money environmental research, or NASA, or ANYTHING, we could house homeless veterans. But the truth is, we could indeed get homeless vets into studio apartments.

I do agree that it's shameful how TRAs take up social resources. But no leftist is saying "don't give homeless veterans homes! I want that money for transgender resources." Not even the TRAs would say that, in all honesty.

I would gladly bring up how much Johnny Q Taxpayer gets soaked for every medical transition. But I wouldn't follow it up with "we would fix this problem were it not for....." because it can be used for anything we spend money on.
