I read that this article earlier today and started laughing. It's so textbook. It's the biggest farce. Unbelievable that anyone takes any of this seriously. Look at him. Ffs. He's like every slobby weird gamer bro with a porn addiction. It's comical until you remember this is actually happening.

It's also common for adopted kids to transition.

Interesting. Are there articles on this?

I just found out there was actually a study (everything I'd seen up to this were articles and Johanna Olson-Kennedy noting that almost all black kids she treats were adopted): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5548409/

There's also an NPR story: https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2016/08/07/488390073/trans-and-adopted-exploring-teen-identity The article claims the phenomenon is due to adopted kids being more comfortable being an "other", which strikes me as really sad and a fucked up justification. As if the solution to adopted kids feeling like they don't belong is to encourage them to double down on it.
