Hm, this second article seems to not consider the possibility that pregnancy is when the abuser knows he has you trapped.

Perfectly nice and normal men do not suddenly turn into murderers because of stress. And I am very sceptical about the claim that any kind of domestic violence is caused by stress, unless you call "yelling at someone for no good reason" violence. (Have you read "Why Does He Do That?"? It's a book by a guy who worked with domestic abusers, and he has some very interesting insights about the whole "he's just angry" thing.)

What I originally posted was from buzzfeed news and the flip-flopping in using the word women and then the author trying to use any other word f on woman was very confusing.

This caused me to go down the rabbit hole and saw that March of dimes has already written on the topic years ago.

As a survivor of sexual abuse and domestic violence which resulted in and continued threw pregnancy from my ex abuser and family members. I used to think these experiences were unique to me and I was overreacting to being mistreated.

The local Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Resource Center was life-changing for me and helped me break the cycle of abuse. My personal experiences are a major driving force in why I am a radical feminist who cares about child safeguarding.
