I was talking to a friend about the I Am Jazz episode where they held a rally around a badly painted mural for four black trans identified people. One was the murderer Tony McDade, who stabbed her girlfriend's son to death. We'll never know why she was "going through a mental health crisis" but rest assured, it's someone else's fault. She was shot just for being herself. And pointing a gun at police after she stabbed a young man.
Anyway- while I believe Jazz's sincerity, since he's so brainwashed, it's clear everyone else is not that concerned. Peppermint said he couldn't make it because.....well.....he's very, VERY busy. What he does that he's so booked is a mystery. He must have a great work ethic. He and his fellows TIMs must work all day digging for gems, singing "Aztec Death Whistle While You Work." Very time consuming.
So the show scoured for ANY black "trans woman" who can help raise awareness for this fictional murder epidemic. Oh, wait. No, they didn't scour. They punked Jeanette by producing TS Madison. I howled with laughter at that. They're going to use this somber, funerary occasion to start Round 2 between Jeanette and TS. Shows you how seriously TLC is taking this.
Fwiw, I like TS Madison. He's the only one who seems to give a damn about Jazz.
The most notable thing about the rally- so few people in attendence. I mean, here's the opportunity to show allyship not only on your own social media, but on national cable tv. With the opportunity to meet a trans icon.
About 25-30 people showed up. Some of whom were Jeanette's transkid mom friends. The Jennings themselves, the TLC crew. The Gallagher Ghouls + TIF girlfriend. A TIM who has made numerous appearances on Botched because he was a victim of underground silicone injections. One AGP in hot pink everything gushing that Jazz played a "pivicol" role his life. He used to watch Jazz in 2016 when Jazz was about 15. And it apparently saved him from death. Creepy.
That was it. It wasn't packed. You would think that it would have a ton of people because of the publicity. But clearly the show had to round attendents up. I don't know if TLC deliberately wanted to limit the number of guests and avoid strangers. But it read to me like they knew not many would come on their own, so they had to get creative.
The takeaway- even the local LGBTQ community knows that the "epidemic of murder" against black trans people isn't real. Very few bothered to come. Not even the perks of meeting a celebrity and being on TV tempted them.
Honestly, I think it's disrespectful to Malik Jackson and his family to hold a televised ceremony for his killer. There were three other trans people to talk about. TLC and this stupid little chapter of the woke cult could have left Tony McDade out.
But it looks like a lot of people who would have paid to show up two years ago now don't want any part of it. The rally just had this vibe of Scientologists hiring extras to clap at the grand opening of Ideal Orgs, because there aren't enough real Scientologists to attend. It was a sad attempt to hide how quickly this whole thing is losing popularity.
