I've long been frankly bemused by Australian media's reaction (or lack thereof) to the erasure of sex. As far as I can tell they are actually the country with the best possible media landscape to cover this (which I've posted about here).

Bernard Lane of the Australian has done a great job over the years, but AFAIK his articles never make it to the front page, and the Australian is Murdoch owned so is often dismissed by liberals. The Sydney Morning Herald and companion papers printed in other names in other cities are largely center left historically, veering center right more recently but still read by the center left crowd.

This is a big deal. Please write to the Sydney Morning Herald and thank them - remember what happened when we all wrote to the BBC about the article about the cotton ceiling.
