RantOn TIMs thinking Ovarit is ‘depressing’ (cw: mention of violence against women and children inc. babies)

I often see men-pretending-to-be-women shitting on Ovarit because it’s ‘so depressing’ a place to be. I wonder if they think a women’s discussion site should just be us girlbossing and uwuing and telling each other how amazing and valid we are?

If Ovarit seems depressing when you look at the homepage, that’s probably because we post about all the atrocious things men do to women and children. It IS depressing that men rape babies; rape women; kill babies and women; watch videos of women being violently and sexually degraded; pay women for the pleasure of violently and sexually abusing them; violate our boundaries and jeopardise our safety by entering our spaces; cheat in our sports and steal our awards; skew crime statistics, negatively impacting women; divert funding that needs to be going to women’s health, actual mental illness research and research into chronic conditions that disproportionately affect females; rape women in female prisons; call us dirty for simply not shaving our natural body hair, etc etc etc. But this is where we get to find community in talking about these things and a whole host of other things. If this seems depressing to these men, maybe they should check in with their delusional ideas about womanhood and recognise they don’t have a fucking clue and that, as much as being a woman is a beautiful thing, it is also often a very painful thing. (Not that they will ever be women ofc.)

They also seem to think everything we talk about here is to do with them - they disregard all the other topics we discuss and I guess they don’t realise we have spaces here that non users can’t access to discuss other things in.

Anyway, just a thought I was having. Of course really what they find ‘depressing’ is probably that we are a group of women who say NO loud and clear to them, and that sure does get their stolen and jizzed in knickers in a twist.
