I found this essay by a male detransitioner and he's coming to the same conclusions we have that this is a goofy religion. A Utopian vision that justifies all its inconsistencies and incoherence. The writer says that essentially trans people believe that

One has to understand the nature of the world’s evil before one can repair it. The first step in obtaining that knowledge is realizing that our bodies are not us, but things which we're trapped inside of. We're not humans; we're ghosts haunting rotting corpses. To stop the Enemy, trans people need to make us all understand that our true selves don’t exist in our corrupted material forms. This is what gender identity actually means: We are not our bodies.

The problem with this is that if it were true, trans people would not be obsessed with their bodies. They'd just wait out its problems because if you have been good enough in this life, you will be released from your body upon death anyway. Surgeries and hormones would be an unnecessary step. They believe that this body is all they're going to get, which is why they need to modify it. They know they won't emerge from their dead bodies as anime Cat Girls.

The world created by the Enemy is irredeemably wicked. For trans people to simply integrate into society would be to surrender to the Enemy. White Supremacist Capitalist Cis-Hetero-Patriarchy can’t be bargained with or reformed. It can only be destroyed: torn down utterly, uprooted and burned, and replaced with Feminist Anti-Racist Fully-Automated Luxury Communism.

On some level, all trans people know that they can only pull this shit in a capitalist society. Maybe a few teens are that clueless, but adults know that money makes the world go round. They don't actually want equality. They want to be the top caste, or at least high up. Their end goal is to be in a higher position than anyone else, and for that, you need to be surrounded by cis-hets that outnumber you, right? How are you rare and special if you're not outnumbered by plebians?

The dream of the trans movement is of a world where no one has to do anything they don't want, where no one is forced to work, where everyone can indulge their every desire without fear or shame, where all distinctions between people have been abolished and we're all completely equal. In a word: Utopia.

Well, they do want to live in a world where THEY are not forced to work, where THEY don't have to do anything they don't want, where THEY can fulfill their every desire. YOU, however, can get fucked. They certainly want YOU working to pay their medical bills, for YOU to donate to their e-begging, and for YOU to keep quiet about their inappropriate behaviors.

TT Exulansic has done some fine work comparing trans ideology to religion, but she's missing a major point. So is this writer.

There IS one consistent, coherent thought in trans ideology: "I want to do whatever I want, and I want you subjugated to me so I can meet my desires on your back." Whether it be Our Lady Of Perpetual Hormone Replacement Therapy or The Non-Denominational Church of Internal Congruence. They both have the same objectives. They don't want to be told no by anyone. They want to enter any space; especially TIMs going into women's spaces. They want their sex fantasies to be fulfilled, with others paying for it. They want to be viewed as higher beings that must be given special privileges.

They want others to be their caretakers, and do nothing more than thank them publicly on social media as a form of blessing.

The religious stuff is a manipulation tool. Especially in the Anglosphere. The US and UK especially are known for new religious movements. Even though the UK is very secular now, fervent religious belief is still something they know. Marxism preyed upon piety and devotion, too, to fill the void of religion, btw, in other countries. Americans are secularizing but even as they leave their churches, trans people capitalize on their old habits.

"You still have an instinctual drive to obey some Higher Being? Dynamite! That higher being is ME!"

The whole religious silliness is one big hoax. That's why they're so incoherent. It's a ball under one of three moving cups. They'll say anything to achieve an immediate objective. If one religious strategy doesn't work, they'll try another. It doesn't matter.

Besides mimicking church, TRAs mimic school, as well. Their graphic organizers, their pronoun conjugation charts, their little demonstrations on social media, writing on white boards. This is great for them- they are the teacher and you are the students. There are fewer teachers than students and that gives them the power dynamic they are seeking. They are educators and YOU are learners. That's why so many TRAs want to be school teachers. But when that gets hard because students don't respect them, they realize they enjoy being influencers and public speakers of some sort.

Teacher, priest, it doesn't matter. Being on this or that board, anything with clout, it's all good. Even being an activist is about defeating others. But what's REALLY helpful is when they don't even have to do all that. It takes effort to be an "educator" or priest or activist. You have to do stuff. What they really want is to have all that privilege base merely on their existence.

So remember, there aren't really any true believers among TRAs. Not the TIMs, not the TIFs, not the NBs. There may be some lack of self-awareness, but that's it.

They all know they are playing a ball-and-cups game. They do not want equality for you. Utopia is not really their goal. They don't believe their bodies are meaningless because of their souls. They don't want to make the world a better place. What they want is full access to everything they want, with you footing the bill.

That's why they're so sloppy with their "religious" tenets. They don't believe in any of that stuff, either.

So this is why I view every TRA as a predator at this point. I don't believe any of them are misguided. Unlike actual religious movements, I don't think there's a sincere believer among them. Certainly their followers believe, or want to believe. But the activists?

I truly think that all of them know it's one big manipulation tactic.

I don't agree that they're all cynical about it. I think people can sincerely believe what just happens to be in their interests. They're incoherent because their logic is self serving, but to me that doesn't have to be as cynical and deliberate as you make it sound. Religious people can be pretty contradictory.

They don't believe their bodies are meaningless because of their souls.

I think they want the complete dominance of mind over body, they believe their bodies should be entirely in their control to change endlessly and use to express their True Self. I don't see why that would be expressed as asceticism or a belief in the afterlife.

Religious people can be contradictory, but TRAs can't NOT be contradictory. Young Earth Creationists are delulu, but they do have a consistent belief. They don't believe in evolution and creationism at the same time. TRAs of the NB type believe that gender is both meaningless and crucial. The "tru scum" are more consistent with their "mind of a woman/man" silliness but they also believe that the body does not make you your gender, but it must somehow be corrected since yes it does make you your gender.

While religious people can be self-contradictory, they can also be consistent. (In being wrong).

Religious people can also be honest in a way TRAs can't. They might accept that no one else is buying their crap and they'll just have to smugly pity the nonbelievers. The TRA needs something out of you, however. Right now. He needs you to let him into your bathrooms. She needs you to accept her into your gay men's night club. He needs you to let him into your sport. She needs you to pay for her metoidioplasty.

If the TRA doesn't get results, it's not about you not Seeing The Light. That's not what they're grieving. They can't be satisfied with "well at least I'm saved!" because they wanted a material benefit out of you. If they don't get into women's spaces, or free "top surgeries" then the project is a failure.
