I hope this is the right place to post this. Sorry if it's not. I applied to the sub TrueLGB about a month ago. Here is our correspondence, https://i.imgur.com/6sj1PC6.jpg

Not two days later I received this, https://i.imgur.com/3efvfWn.jpg I've never even posted to the LGBT sub. I also have never heard back from TrueLGB.

So be careful as they're setting traps for us.

Exactly the kind of malicious trickery I'd expect of these wolves in sheeps' clothes.

They've been working for years now to censor and steer conversation on social media with bots, banning, bait (holy alliteration!) and mass taggers. Can't say I'm surprised but still disappointed that they've managed to successfully exclude everyone who doesn't agree with their bizarre ideology from a site as large and otherwise free-for-all as reddit.

It doesn't surprise me that these losers have nothing better to do than to set traps to catch lesbians & feminists who just want to be left alone.

Back when r/gendercritical was still on Reddit (rest in peace), I would have people reply "BEGONE TERF REEEEEE!!!" when I posted in Reddit subs completely unrelated to the trans issue! One lovely individual got angry at me for saying that sex work is awful and results in women & trans-women being raped and slaughtered. So they followed me to a pregnancy sub I posted in to say, "I hope you and your fetus die in childbirth you f----g TERF/SWERF b---h!!!". Thankfully, the mods at the pregnancy sub banned the TRA, erased their comment, and didn't punish me for TERFery.

I initially found out about r/gendercritical thanks to those TRA morons who decided to randomly attack a poster out of the blue on a completely unrelated subreddit. I was like, wow, to behave this crazily, this person must have said some really messed up things on some other subs. So I looked at their post history, and nope... completely rational posts from someone who detransitioned. I peaked not too long after.

So who knows. That interaction may have peaked a bunch of women on that pregnancy sub too. :)

That's one of the reasons it was so important to get r/GenderCritical banned. It's much easier to demonise us when they can't see what we actually say.

[–] pennygadget 11 points (+11|-0)

It was so funny. Those Reddit TRAs seem to read the post history of EVERYONE they come across to weed out the wrongthinkers! I WISH I had enough free time to do shit like that! LOL

I was surprise banned from my favourite parenting sub for being a member of r/gc. I had never posted any gender related stuff in the sub but one comment in gc (saying RIP when Magdalen Berns died) was enough to get me kicked out.

You got banned from a parenting sub simply for expressing sadness about a woman who died tragically young from brain cancer?

I wish I could say that surprised me. I got chewed out on another Reddit thread for pointing out that Kobe Bryant is most likely a rapist in a thread full of people weeping about his death as if he was the fucking Pope! We're not supposed to celebrate male celebrities who die after a lifetime of abusing women. But people on Reddit are cool with celebrating the untimely death of a woman whose only "crime" was being an unapologetic lesbian.

[–] MsTig0 7 points (+7|-0)

Yup. I posted that one message to the Magdalen Berns thread, and almost immediately got a private message telling me that I had been banned from the parenting sub. I mean, it was so quick it must be automated. Then I asked wtf and they basically said TERF begone.

[–] femuhnist 5 points (+5|-0)

I was banned from that sub as well. The mods there were pretty intense TRAs.

omg this same thing would happen to me LMAO i was active on a lot of radfems (of color) and vegan subs and i remember this one trans person would always send me hate in the most random posts or comments i would make lol. so corny

i think they sent me hate a couple of weeks ago on a comment i made in a vegan sub 6 MONTHS AGO

these ppl r insane

[–] NewMa 40 points (+41|-1)

Wow, so they started a subreddit to "out" people they think aren't Woke enough for r/lgbt.

Nice.

The first time in my life I've been happy about our dumbass conservative as hell supreme court. I cannot wait for this shit to go up in front of the current cast of mostly nutters.

I genuinely don't know what to expect when a trans issue reaches SCOTUS. As has been pointed out, there is a large conservative stake in the trans movement. Also, the fundamental issue is fairness to women, which has not traditionally been a concern of that movement, to put it mildly.

A lot of SCOTUS are conservative Catholics. Does anyone know the official/orthodox Catholic position on trans? I know James Martin SJ is all in, but he's a total SJW in a dog collar.

The Catholic Church is very openly against "gender ideology" (they coined the term) and the TRAs have been rallying against the "anti-gender" Catholics in academia for the last decade. This is a pretty good overview of the stances of the Catholic Church on transgenderism.

They are also strongly against mutilation: (No. 2297) “Except when performed for strictly therapeutic medical reasons, directly intended amputations, mutilations, and sterilizations performed on innocent persons are against the moral law.”

They have their own issues (biological determinism and homophobia), but on this particular one, they (albeit misguidedly) agree with radfems.

People hate it when I say it, but this is one reason I was OK with sending my son to Catholic school. I worry a lot about it, but I don't think he was any safer in public school (he is likely to be bullied due to a birth defect), and the education is better in the Catholic system in my area.

They also kick kids out of Catholic schools for poor behavior, but our public schools no longer do suspensions or detentions. So basically there's not much you can do to stop bullying. There was a 10 year old who killed himself from bullying at a public school here a few years ago. He had a colostomy bag. I am scared to death of this happening to my son. A girl at a public high school had chunks of her scalp ripped out during an attack by another girl. The attacker was not expelled or even suspended. The school didn't even call the police.

I am hoping most of the bad stuff Catholics teach, I can teach him the better way of thinking about at home.... It's easier to teach your kid to be more open minded at home than it is to teach them when something is too open-minded at school. At least, so I hope.

I have to say, I used to be gung ho about public schools and very much against charter schools and vouchers. Now I am not so sure public schools are really all that great. :/

[–] starsstorm 4 points (+4|-0)

This is why I’m considering catholic school for my daughters. Also my cousins who all went to catholic school all got a better sex ed than I did at my public schools in a liberal state.

Sadly, I think conservative Christians in the U.S. prefer a trans son to a gay son.

[–] worried19 21 points (+22|-1)

Not the ones I know. I have read stories about some who are, but the Christians I grew up around are big on the body being a temple of God. I think transgender surgeries and hormones are going to be a hard sell to evangelicals who believe that "God doesn't make junk."

[–] Noonefromnowhere 15 points (+16|-1)

Don't mistake conservative Evangelical protestants for conservative Catholics. If nothing else, Catholicism has a very long tradition of engaging with moral issues through a Christian lens and trying to resolve them with Biblical teaching.

Evangelicals are all candy and ice cream. No substance, so no wonder they mould to the local biases.

NB: I'm not Catholic.

[–] au_dela 19 points (+19|-0)

Do you remember what the message was on the page that said that it was private? Currently, it reads, "Oops, did you mean r/lgbt[?]"

[–] XSaraXPoeX [OP] 14 points (+14|-0)

It didn't say that when I applied. I don't remember what it was then but they must have changed it.

[–] LasagnaRossa 16 points (+16|-0)

I sensed it couldn't be real since reddit bans every sub that tries to be a woman space only.

I'm sorry it happened to you, but thanks for telling us!

[–] catplayoffs 5 points (+5|-0)

I wish there were women only spaces there. I got banned from Female Dating Strategy, which while it had weird parts was at least not liberal feminists.

[–] FireproofWitch 2 points (+2|-0) Edited

Seconded. I, too, was permabanned from FDS. While I was there, I encountered some...unsavoury things about the mods - I’m not entirely convinced all the mods have the best interests of women at heart.

As a general rule to Reddit users: if you do read FDS (and I do, occasionally) make sure you read posts that actually come from the ‘grassroots’ userbase and think critically about it.

[–] Les 12 points (+12|-0)

They hate gay people so much it's not even funny. We're not allowed to have a single space for ourselves. Even one that is completely shut out from private eyes. They just want to control us.

[–] MakeThatDough 11 points (+11|-0)

Get off reddit

[–] XSaraXPoeX [OP] 12 points (+12|-0)

I have a sub there called LesbianMedia that I love posting at and it's starting to grow or else I would. The sub, along with my VintageLesbians sub, are for actual lesbians and I think they're important. Especially for young girls who might get confused by Reddit's girl-dick subs.
