I just learned that LGBDropTheT has been set to private on SaidIt. Does anyone have any news on why this was done? Is it just for Pride month or is it permanent?

Bummer, I liked lurking there. Feels kinda reassuring to see that gay men are struggling with the same horseshit us lesbians are. Nice sense of solidarity there.
I think we can learn a lot from the gay men. They are blunt and vicious and they effectively manage to stamp out any TRA nonsense. Even their Reddit communities aggressively shut down any trans panderers looking for validation and are modded by actual gay men
Of course they have the luxury of being male and therefore the admins at reddit would never dare take their communities away from them, unlike how they treat females.
I mean in some cases Reddit banned female communities (GC Reddits, FDS etc) just because they disliked female mods. But the lesbian communities were infiltrated by TIMs squirming into the good graces of “just be kind” lesbians and gradually pushing them out of their own spaces.

Apparently there was some drama there yesterday that led to the mods deciding to shut down the sub for good. It's really sad, since there was lots of good discussion there and it was one of the few -- if not the only -- LGB spaces that wasn't co-opted by TRAs.
Ugh so frustrating! The sub was really the only reason I ever visited saidit, after I rage quit reddit when they purged the lesbian subs. That is a huge shame.
There was a big fight yesterday that resulted in this. One woman was talking about how some lesbians take a while to feel comfortable admitting they have 0 interest in men, other woman went off saying all the lesbians there are telling her to sleep with men and that lesbians sleep with men. Completely went nuclear. Then the mod went nuclear and shut it all down and is now saying they're quitting and it'll just be unmodded/a dead community.
Jesus, this is why definitions are important. There's nothing wrong with being bisexual, or spending time being bisexual before identifying as lesbian, but lesbian should mean WLW exclusively. Otherwise suddenly everyone's a lesbian and there's no word to define "fuck off, men."
She wasn't even saying that she was just referring to lesbians who previously tried to be open to men due to societal pressures

Oh no, that's so sad. I was offline yesterday, so I didn't see that.
I really enjoyed that community, and I'll definitely miss it. It was one of the few spaces where LGB people could work together to protect our community from the T. The only other LGB space I knew of like that is r/lesbigay on Reddit, but it seems to have died too.
Does anyone have screenshots/an archive? I’m curious to see the dispute there. I originally come here from that saidit and noticed that there were not a lot of lesbian users or radfems which is why I migrated here
I couldn't find anything on archive.org, archive.today, rDrama, or Kiwi Farms. If there are any other places that might have screenshots, please let me know.

Yeah, DropTheT had lots of gay men and bisexuals as well as some distrust towards radfems, but it seemed that some of the most prolific users, as well as the mods, were lesbians. Either way, it definitely is a loss because they had lots of great discussions on TRA homophobia and child transition.
Only if you use computers to browse social media. The app is underwhelming.
It's worth joining if you're interested in general LGB discussion and news. They also have an s/GenderCritical sub -- which is smaller than this one, but still interesting -- as well as s/therearetwogenders and s/transbarassment to discuss the silly things TRAs do. They also have s/GCDebatesQT if you're interested in that.
How active are those subs, would you say? I've really only ever seen a lot of activity on LGBdroptheT.
They're much less active than DropTheT was and Ovarit is. On a good day, there's usually only 3 posts on s/GenderCritical -- the largest of those subs -- and maybe 12 comments on a good post.
