I’m not sure what I think about it. Nigel was a fan of the original Predator movie and he was rather okay with it which surprised me. It certainly wasn’t what I expected, which is a good thing overall.

IT SHOULD HAVE RELEASED IN CINEMAS. The fact that most of the movie was made by native Americans, the heroine being insanely cool?! Absolute treasure of a movie. I love Amber ever since Legion (trippy TV show) and hope she becomes huge with this <3

I really enjoyed it. I played it thinking it would be a background action movie while I did some work, but then I never took my eyes off the screen haha.

I watched the Comanche language version and liked it a lot! So did our friend group's resident superfan of the series who was trying to explain lore references throughout. I love that we got a Native woman action hero and that she wins by being a smart hunter, lives to lead her people to safety (we hope), and so does her dog

Some of the grisly parts were sad to watch but when the bunch of french trappers/invaders/slave traders got slaughtered my whole house was cheering him on lmao.

Yeah I was really expecting a rape scene when the French traders had her in a cage, so I was glad when they died even though thankfully that didn’t happen

Yeah bc you know they have done it to other women even if they thankfully don't show it on the screen to the main character.

I may have driven my Nigel slightly crazy complaining about historical inaccuracies...but it was decent.

Although I like the Predator movies, the overwhelming amount of animals that get killed in this one is enough to turn me off from watching it. I'm happy that the dog apparently lives, but even if it's just CGI, I don't really want to watch an opossum get shot or a wolf be torn apart. I love stupid gore and horror movies, but a lot of what I've read that happens in the film just seems like mindless cruelty for the sake of it.

I definitely had to turn my head/shut my eyes more than a few times for the animal deaths, so I understand where you're coming from. I was definitely glad that they were CGI but CGI animal death is still hard to watch.

The Thing is one of my favorite movies, but my partner always has the important job of fast forwarding through the kennel scene for me. I also won't watch a movie unless I've thoroughly checked doesthedogdie.com. It's silly, because again, I know it's fake, but animal deaths in film are on par for me with children's deaths. It's still something innocent being hurt.

I had a lot of fun with the movie, best Predator since the original (though the bar is admittedly low). The setting was a nice change of pace, I enjoyed the lead characters and the Predator kills, and the climax was really satisfying. Really wish it released in theatres.

A relative told me about it. Not a fan of gore as I would expect it to have plenty but I can ignore it for the sake of the plot.
