This subreddit was drawn to my attention this morning, and I feel absolutely ill. Visit it at your own risk or not at all. I only made it through a couple posts before coming here to share, but these assholes really do feel like they're the victims in these situations they created. And it seems like the majority of them were charged or are being charged with CSA material possession. Yes, but they're the real victim and the system is just trying to screw them over.
People need to better understand the personality patterns of narcissists. The term gets tossed around very casually nowadays but true narcissists are not to be taken lightly. They basically never truly reform, the closest you get is them being in a situation which literally REQUIRES them to act a certain way for survival (eg prison). Their brains are broken in that they are mentally incapable of even the lowest levels of empathy. I'm not talking about "Man that guy is a real dick, he acts like Eric Cartman" tier annoying people, I mean people who are mentally incapable of viewing other humans as humans.
Many of the worst criminals have narcissistic personality traits and I think most CSA offenders are likely in that category. They can literally rape and murder children and still their brains convince them they're the real victim. It's the court's fault for taking away their freedom, it's their ex-wife's fault for not being exactly what he wanted, it's their mother's fault for not being exactly what he wanted, it's the child's fault for being too desirable, it's society's fault for being too judgmental, it's anybody BUT their own fault. Their brains will not allow them to accept the reality that they are to blame.
It's horrifying and I would be totally fine locking away men like this forever and throwing away the key. A narc can't develop empathy. A pedo can't stop his sick desires. They're not going to get better. They have no place in society because they can never contribute, only detract and destroy.
It feels bad to the rest of us normal humans, especially women who are socialized to have empathy. But empathy is wasted on a CSO. We want there to be a Disney ending where the bad person wakes up and realizes they're a bad person. And i do think that can happen for some people convicted of crimes, possibly many of them even, I don't have hard stats. But diddlers? Nah, there's no coming back from that, because no person with a functional brain would allow themselves to commit those crimes in the first place, and those who do can't be fixed.

Yeah, it is pathetic. I know these guys and how they think. I worked with sex offenders for a while in a corrections facility, in the protection wing. They are great at playing the victim and not taking responsibility for their actions. Completely irredeemable, the lot of them. Seeing so many of their partners post in that sub is really disturbing though.
