A 30-year-old man has killed one and injured four in a stabbing spree at a supermarket in Assago, Italy. Authorities have ruled out terrorism and reports are that the attacker has mental health problems.

While yes, there are indeed a very few unfortunate people who are so mentally ill that they are incapable of committing a crime in the legal sense, why is it that the kinds of "mental health problems" which lead a person to commit wanton acts of murderous violence hardly ever seem to afflict our half of the population? Surely the WHO should look into this medical mystery?
