That’s some ice-cold Russian dad justice right there.

I appreciate how the community rallied around this guy. I have to wonder what the reaction would be here in the US.

It would depend on what state he lives in and whether or not the rapist identified as a "girl"
It's sick but whether or not you get support very much depends on whether or not your rape supports the narrative people want to tell.
Raped by a immigrant or POC? The Right Wing will rally behind you to prove how violent that demographic is. The Left willcall you a lying racist whore.
Raped by a rich white dude? The Left wing will rally behind you to prove how privileged men of that demographic are. The Rightwill call you a lying feminazi out to get men.
We are sick with the “innocent until proven guilty” mindset
Cannot disagree with you more, "innocent until proven guilty" is a vital part of our criminal system, there should'nt be any exceptions.
sentenced to 18 months and released after 6 months.
Can’t help thinking about all those women who kill their violent abusive husbands and get sentenced to 30 years.
Still, this is good.
In an ideal world, vigilante justice would not be necessary, because child abusers would never get out of prison.
And of course, the risk of an error is higher in vigilante justice than it ideally should be if the crime goes to court.
But in this case ... there was video evidence. On the pedo's phone, apparently, so couldn't even have been a malicious fake by someone else.
The dad probably saved many other girls' childhoods.
I hope he got his "Father Of The Year" trophy as well
What a dad and what a community! I wish them all the best, and hope that they manage to stay safe during this time. I also hope that the little girl and any other kids who were abused by that monster are able to heal and finally feel safe and at peace.
He dropped this on the way out of prison: 👑

RULES
Please make sure you've read the the Sitewide Rules and Sitewide Guidelines as well as the circle-specific rules below.
General Guidelines: Posts should document male violence. Use descriptive titles when submitting links and text posts. Avoid vague titles, clickbait titles, and editorializing. If you're linking to a news article or blog, make the title of your submission the title of the article or blog posts, or at least begin with it. Clear titles help people avoid posting duplicate topics.
NAMALT/Whataboutery: This sub does not accept arguments that predicated on the idea that 'not all men' commit crimes or that women commit crimes too. We know that not all men commit crimes and that some women do. We also know all the available proof indicates that men commit the majority of violent crime in every country of the world and in every historical period.

QUOTES
Domestic violence against women by men is “caused” by the misuse of power and control within a context of male privilege. Male privilege operates on an individual and societal level to maintain a situation of male dominance, where men have power over women and children. Domestic violence by men against women can be seen as a consequence of the inequalities between men and women, rooted in patriarchal traditions that encourage men to believe they are entitled to power and control over their partners.
Perpetration of serious violence and crime is in fact the most distinctive sex difference there is, cross-culturally.
The male-female difference in perpetrators of violent crime is about 10 to 1, consistent across every state in the United States, and true of every country for which such data are available…The overwhelming maleness of violence is so pervasive in every human society that it is typically not even recognized as such; it is the ocean in which we swim.
I've always appreciated men who take out the trash.
