Hi there! I have a question about redaction!

Why do Discord usernames need to be redacted but not Twitter and Reddit usernames?

I understand Facebook usernames needing to be redacted since Facebook tends to be more personal and stuff but why Discord too?

I assume because Discord servers can be private with tightly controlled membership, and it might put the user who posted the screenshot at risk of doxxing. Twitter and Reddit are almost invariably public.

Censoring Discord usernames isn’t required by the Sitewide Rules, but moderators are welcome to make their own calls and make circle rules that require it. Following up on circle rules is best done with the circle moderators via the message the moderators button (which isn’t working right this moment but hopefully will be soon).
