Today is our Second birthday!

Thank you to everyone who has made this journey with us and contributed to this platform and the communities on it and proven that it’s not as easy to shut women up as some people would like.

Has Ovarit made a difference in your life? Are there any communities here or users here you’d like to celebrate?

I’d especially like to thank @grrrandma. She adds most of our software features and fixes most of our bugs and we wouldn’t have any of this without her. She’s a brilliant and tenacious programmer and problem solver and she inspires me so much. Thank you!

Happy Birthday Ovarit! I was on r/GC that infamous day of the banwave, and the quick setup of Ovarit was everything. These days the posters on o/GenderCritical have become so reliable and tenacious that I can scan the sub here first for any GC-related news and go from there.

Thank you everyone for this labor of love and the untold hours you've dedicated to make this site a refuge and bastion of sanity for women. ❤️ 🎂 🍷

Happy Birthday Ovarit!!!

Happy Birthday to all of us here!!!

Big thanks to all the women who made this possible, we love you and appreciate your efforts.

Happy birthday ovarit and a big thank you to all the lovely mods, programmers and admins.

Ovarit has made such a notable difference in my life. I knew there were other people that were critical of things I was critical of but I found it was often surface level or the criticism ceased if I mentioned how girls' and women's issues are sex-based. I saw this often with "gender"/"trans" ideology also; I could not discuss this ideology to the extent I wanted to because people were not open to discussing it, really, they wanted concessions > acceptance > and adoption of it. I wish I would have found this website and joined sooner because I could speak of the pervasive issues for a good handful of months.

I would like to celebrate the creators of this site, the mods, the users, it is incredible that there is a women-centered forum where we do not have to bear males invading our spaces and where we can speak freely. I also love that it is not an-anyone-can-join-forum; I appreciate that you have to be invited and then have to reach a level 15 to generate your own invite codes (https://ovarit.com/o/Announcements/35404/we-raised-the-level-required-to-generate-invite-codes, I like the suggestions in this thread too!). Please do not make it similar to other forums or social media platforms and keep the account creation limited! Do the methods of requesting an invite code remain the same as the following: Saidit (https://ovarit.com/o/Ovarit/1979/answers-to-how-do-i-get-an-invite-code-and-other-questions), Spinster (@ Ovarit), Twitter (@ WomenAreOvarit), and, unofficially, a subforum to request a code on Pre***t?

Back to my gratitude: we can find resources, compile evidence, and speak of various topics (from sewing to the benefits of implementation of the Nordic Model (thank you @NordicModelNow!)) without misogyny, sexual harassment, and other nasty behaviours resulting of male socialization. Thank you all!

While I wish r/GenderCritical and similar Reddit subs weren't banned, I continue to feel extremely thankful for this silver lining. Thank you so much for going through the time, effort, and money in creating this space.

🎉 Thank you all so much for all your hard work!! You all are amazing. Happy Birthday, Ovarit!!! 🥂🎆

A big shout-out to our admins and devs and fellow mods, and just as important:

To all of you who have, and do, and will, make Ovarit an online destination and not just an online decoration. You make this place think and talk and argue and hum and spin off ideas and projects and be more than a pretty framework sitting out there on the web. Raise a glass of your beverage of choice, toast yourselves, toast us all.

🥂 🙌 🙌 🙌 🙌 👏👏👏👏

Thank you to everyone who helps make Ovarit possible! The admins, the mods, girl_undone and grrrandma, anyone else who contributes to programming, as well as donators. I learn something new here all the time and this has been a really important space for me to explore ideas that I was not able to before.

I might go mad were it not for the company of the women I find here. So I dedicate to Ovarit founders, mods, technicians, and subscribers this heartfelt message from 1970’s women’s music:

‘The road back home to me

Is the road I took to you.’

Happy birthday Ovarit! Thank you mods and all programmers who have made this site what it is. No amount of thank yous will ever be enough to let you know how much we all appreciate your hard work, but thank you, thank you, thank you!

To women's liberation!
