When I search "Ovarit" on google, the top results are all either woke articles about "terfs" or... stuff like this ??

The actual domain of this site is at the very bottom of the page.

This is the first result.

However, searching on DuckDuckGo yields this site as the first result, and others talking about the site itself. As in, much more relevant.

Searching on Bing also gives more relevant results than google - the first result is, again, the Ovarit domain, and gives a link to the site on the sidebar (PC).

Any examples of similar suppression by Google?

ETA: for those saying Ovarit is the first result you get from google, maybe it's because you frequently visit the site. When I first googled Ovarit, it was to log in from my new laptop, and noticed that it was the bottom of the page with woke stuff on top, while every other browser lists it on top.

Google has been pulling that nonsense for years with KF, and also tends to bury articles about TIMs doing horrible things, and even murder rates against women, under a huge pile of content about how super-duper oppressed TIMs are. Even specific cases around TIM murderers tend to pull up articles written by apologetics making excuses for them before news.

It took me like 6 pages to find TIM criminality stats because when you Google transgender criminality, what comes up is all 2 murdered TIMs from the last year with the 15 trillion percent increase in hate crimes 😐

After finally finding the stats I understand why they're trying so hard to hide them. Holy shit.

I can’t remember what it was, but I do remember during the 2016 election cycle, there was some scandal with I think Hillary Clinton and when you looked at Google analytics the scandal what was was what was being searched for most frequently, but when you started to type the scandal google recommendations would not bring it up and try to redirect you.

Just FYI, I get very different results to yours on Google on my laptop, OP.

The first page results I get on Google when I type "ovarit" into the search bar are:

Ovarit.com with four subheadings showing : Gender Critical Feminism; o/TransLogic; New; It's A Fetish

Ovarit (@WomenAreOvarit) / Twitter

Ovarit on Twitter

Ovarit LLC - Business Entity Detail

Ovarit - traffic analytics and market share

We're Ovarit - Die Cut Sticker - Garnuu

ovarit - Wiktionary

OVARIT. (@ovaritpodcast) • Instagram photos and videos

And at the bottom of my page 1 results, Google helpfully adds:

I just did the same Google search on two other devices I hardly ever use for web browsing - my iPhone and an iPad - and got the same exact results.

Same here, pretty much the exact same top hits, along with a link to Ovarit Substack.

I also get “Saidit LGBDropTheT” in my suggested related searches, “along with “mumsnet feminism” and “mumsnet trans.”

There’s a documentary on social media mentioning that Google searches will bring up different results depending on your location and interests, so there’s that.

Yeah, most search results are tailored to the user's location and individual browsing history.

Ads that crop up are another topic altogether. I know they're based on your browsing history, but sometimes I get ads that seem to come out of left field. On Mumsnet, I keep getting ads for this weird, incredibly tacky men's clothing line that appears directed at gay men who are into a kink coz has a lot of fetish-type items. And I get ads for Smith & Wesson handguns! And not for small, "delicate" and "ladylike" handguns, either. The handgun they keep showing me is large, chunky, heavy-looking, brutish styled one that would require big hands and presumably a very strong trigger finger. On Mumsnet of all places. Go figure...

weird. i'm using a laptop too, and i get the same results I did here when I search on my phone.

just did another search, and it lists the site as the first result. but I think it's because I started visiting the site often. when I first searched, I hadn't even gone on it yet from my laptop.

Yeah--basically if you search on any of the negative impacts of self ID, all you get is pro-trans stuff.

Google will always lead you to biased results, while harvesting your data to build a profile of you. I have yet to find a decent replacement to Google Shopping when I’m after something specific though, so I still use it for that, albeit with resentment.

repeating my previous comment on the other circle:

Interesting. I had not searched for Ovarit, but do know that some of our posts show up with key word searches.

I use duckduckgo the most but one thing that I have noticed is that ovarit.com drops off the list of search results every now and then. The most recent time was about three weeks ago, it disappeared completely off the results list. After three days it showed up again as the first site listed.

I've noticed that startpage gives the most relevant results, better than duckduckgo even.

It also boasts to be the safest search machine there is, and doing the least tracking. Seems they're truthful ...

I liked Startpage a lot but I had to stop using it because it refused to work whenever I was using a VPN. I got flagged as a suspicious IP, every time, when all I was trying to do was an internet search for a specific actor or something benign like that.

I read a post about how Google would manipulate the results if you searched for Angelina Jolie’s daughter Shiloh. Super creepy and fucked up.
