Pretty much. I try not to touch any algorithmic social media and the few I do have, my entire feed is just reptile keepers, fursuit makers, my friend's art and alternative fashion. I keep them isolated to my most fringe interests and even THEN I still sometimes get the ultra photoshopped local egirls suggested to me, but presumably way more rarely than others who get it 24/7. My mom follows an art tag on IG and p much only follows museums and somehow she gets the egirl posts more often than I do.

I think it’s because the algorithm works out that your a woman and roughly what age you are and then pushes that on you

For a while I was looking up trucks, hiking and camping gear almost everyday because of some trips myself and my partner are planing and started getting mens grooming gear advertised to me.

One thing I’ve also done is “hidden” the girlfriends I have that are prone to uploading hyper filtered pictures of themselves. Even though I know they don’t really look like that it really bothered me and I kept comparing myself to them. I try to actively not look at any of those kinds of images because I know it messes with my self esteem

I'm so lucky in that sense (the thing with friends). My best friend actually worked as a model for a time but she doesn't do that overfiltered stuff now. She goes on Snapchat and makes goofy faces out of her pics.
