Gender Cynical have absolutely no idea what a radfem is. Why shouldn’t men wear skirts if they want to? We absolutely don’t care, as long as they don’t think that makes them women. Why do they think we hate gender non-conformity when THEY’RE the ones surgically altering their bodies to try to conform?

[–] Tnetennba 5 points (+5|-0)

They've realized they've made a mistake and instead of admitting it they scream at everyone around them until the hurt feelings go away, which they never do because cowards are always creating more problems for themselves.

[–] Yemaya 36 points (+36|-0) Edited

Yeah cowards who run and hide behind women and want us to fight their battles or we're "bigots"...

Men wearing skirts, dresses, and makeup, etc isn't even anything new. Them caring so much about what other people think isn't our problem either.

Them caring so much about what other people think isn't our problem either.

Yes! The whole crux of this "trans validation" nonsense is that men demand that women coddle them. It's not our job to protect their ego - our concern is our health and safety.

[–] Calico 32 points (+32|-0)

Yeah, transwomen SHOULD just admit what they actually are, GNC/transvestite men. Nothing inherently wrong with that — hell, even if it’s just a fetish, that isn’t morally wrong per se as long as you’re not being an obsessive creep about it.

I guess identifying as trans isn’t so oppressive after all if this is considered too scary.

I had a male teacher in an electronics class that dressed and presented feminine but insisted he was still a man and I found that kind of attractive. It is, to use a worn phrase, stunning and brave for real to defy the gender stereotypes without trying to defy the reality regarding one's sex.

I honestly didn't understand what's happening here. So a GC thought men's skirts are laughable, right? What is the gendercynical on about?

I personally like the way men look in skirts, as long as they are still aware that they are men. Men wearing skirts is also nothing new. But it's a matter of taste, right?

I do miss the days when you could spot goth boys in eyeliner, long dyed hair, & mahoossive boots and black kilts.

[–] Tortoisemouse 12 points (+12|-0)

Same here, what is this all about? I don't understand. Can someone explain? Who is upset about men in skirts? What is Gender Cynical?

I was delighted when I saw this article in the Guardian a few weeks ago. I am delighted to see a man in a skirt (genuinely). Also, politically speaking, the more everyone can feel free to dress and behave however they like the better. The more men feel they can be feminine, the less justification for the pretence that this means they are actual women and therefore the less of a threat they are to women's spaces. And the happier everyone can be.

A lot of men look great in a sarong/kilt/tunic/salwar kameez/etc.

Gender cynical is a group of children who are downright in love with us and furious at themselves for it. Spineless cowards who have to make up slithering lies like the snakes they are. They are SO DESPERATE for our attention but pretend they hate it. In reality they crave attention from us and desperately want us to notice them.

[–] Tortoisemouse 1 points (+1|-0)

OK still completely confused so I googled.... aaand... Reddit. So basically whenever I am completely confused on Ovarit it's because Reddit.

[–] hypatia 13 points (+13|-0)

I couldn't care less if men wear skirts. I do care if they think wearing the skirt gives them special privileges.

[–] Turtlefuzz 8 points (+15|-7)

Does Gender Cynical not realize that fashion is subjective? Not every woman would support men wearing skirts. I mean, just off the top of my head I can imagine some greasy loser going around flashing people easily.

You are allowed to not like fashion. I personally don't mind men wearing women's clothes, but it's totally fine to be disgusted by it too.

[–] babayaga 16 points (+17|-1)

'Disgusted' seems kind of harsh. Fashion should be, at worst, mildly irritating (assuming it's not like hardcore BDSM gear). Also, men can already easily flash women by wearing baggy, loose shorts.

[–] goneharolding 10 points (+10|-0)

Not to mention the classic trench coat with nothing underneath 🤢

[–] banjo 7 points (+7|-0)

Disgusted is kind of harsh but I think she was getting at it being a turn off for a lot of people, which seems fair.

[–] Turtlefuzz 2 points (+5|-3)

I find some fashion trends to be repulsive, honestly haha. Like skinny jeans, crop tops or cargo shorts. Just so ugly that it sends shivers down my spine.

And I agree on your second point. I just don't want it to be easier for men to be able to do it.

[–] Rvy 9 points (+10|-1)

"women's clothes"

[–] Turtlefuzz 7 points (+7|-0)

As much as it pained me to write that, clothes are absolutely marketed as "men's" and "women's" so I wanted to make my point clear.

[–] Tnetennba 4 points (+5|-1)

Yes, clothes shaped for women's bodies. Unisex just means men. Women have breasts and hips that need to be accommodated in our clothing.

[–] Rvy 2 points (+2|-0) Edited

I've been wearing mostly androgynous clothes for the last 5 years or so, and they fit just fine.

It's way harder for a man to find a fitting dress than for a woman to find fitting "masculine" clothes.

[–] Galko 4 points (+4|-0)

Did they miss Utili-kilts? Those are still a thing in the tech industry! Men can totally wear skirts, just as long as they understand the magical cloth doesn't turn them into a women.

[–] Tnetennba 2 points (+2|-0)

Yeah, it's a well known fact they're spineless pathetic cowards. In other news, water is wet.

[–] spacykate 2 points (+2|-0)

I'm still confused about the problem with males wearing skirts. Is it that they're still appearing masculine and are not gender bending?

And they say terfs are the ones who are obsessed with restrictive gender roles.
