I suspected the same. I’ve heard rumors that PCOS and even certain forms of infertility are now being described by some people as “intersex”.

There’s also the fact that self-diagnosis is basically the shit right now.

Yes, I have PCOS and I've seen this in the past and it pisses me off so much. Especially since the messed up hormones are just a side effect of the underlying metabolic disorder's effects on the ovaries.

3/4 of the women in my immediate family have PCOS and I find it laughable that someone might claim there are therefore more intersex people in my immediate family than women by their definition. Nobody can be serious about that. It's pure nonsense.

It's also unbelievably insulting. Having extra hair and acne doesn't make someone less of a woman, and to suggest that is superficial and disgusting. The only thing that makes a woman less of a woman is if she isn't actually a woman at all and was born a man.

That's a large amount. Did they check the men? I think it would be called Stein–Leventhal syndrome in men. Balding, excess hair, cardiovascular problems, insulin problems, obesity I think.

It starts to look like an autoimmunity disease but not sure if it was ever classified as such. That potentially could explain why women with PCOS are 26 to 51% more likely to catch Corona (source: http://blog.verity-pcos.org.uk/2021/03/pcos-and-covid-19-risk-update)

Medicine is so complex.
