I mean, this is not a nice a cool community for females who travel, it's a data mining tool for Conde Nast, I get that.

But since admin will be referring to women as "period havers" to be iNcLusiVe, why not change the group's name into "non-binary period-havers and women who can't have periods because they're actually male gone international uWu"?

Really disappointed to see this. I’ve met a lot of really cool women through GGI and the founder (Anne Scott; not the admin who wrote that) is the daughter of two lesbians. You’d think she wouldn’t be onboard with this woman-erasing language.

Sorry, what do you mean by this? Each city has a chapter that organizes in-person events (or used to, pre-pandemic) so ime it is a cool community for women who travel.

I was under the impression that it now belonged to Conde Nast. Maybe I'm making a confusion and Conde Nast acquired another solo female traveler community.

Anyway, this is what it's in their facebook group "About" tab:

GGI is a fun, friendly local and global community offering friendship, connection, support, belonging, empowerment and happiness to womxn and non-binary people living overseas or far from home.

Our mission is to help womxn and non-binary people go anywhere and belong everywhere.

🤢🤮

I'm emailing the founder:

Ah, I think you’re thinking of Women Who Travel, which is owned by Condé Nast. I hope your email to Anne is fruitful. Keep us posted!

What about girls and women who don't have periods? The logic is infallible, as always.

Except that girls and women who don't get periods don't read "women have the right to make their own choice about period products" and go, "WAIT, ARE YOU SAYING THAT I'M NOT A WOMAN? WHY DO YOU HAVE TO KEEP REMINDING ME THAT I DON'T MENSTRUATE? DO YOU HATE ME, DO YOU WANT ME TO DIE, ARE YOU DENYING MY EXISTENCE? I'M A WOMAN AND I'M RIGHT HERE, I EXIST! YOU'RE PREPUBESCENTPHOBIC, MENOPAUSEPHOBIC, PREGNANTPHOBIC, HORMONAL-IMBALANCE-PHOBIC, ETCETCPHOBIC AND SHOULD BE PUNCHED IN THE FACE!"

Tbf the whole thread was about period products, so she was probably trying to not to offend women who don’t have periods (which she should have just said instead).

Can my choice be to use women and girls instead of “period haver”?
