Posts like these need to go in o/TransLogic next time.

[–] Zaftig [OP] 7 points (+9|-2)

Ok, I thought about it but I thought since it was coming from the libfem cult it didn't belong there.

[–] SamuraiGhostCat 14 points (+14|-0) Edited

Well, it is libfem cult shit, but it serves the trans movement/agenda, so it could fit in both, really. I think o/TransLogic isn’t just for stuff from trans people, but TRAs in general.

[–] LOriginedumonde 88 points (+88|-0)

This is just over the top psychotic. Why don’t people with unconventional pronouns get together and practice how not to be offended when people inevitably MiSgEnDeR them.

[–] salt_and_tea 58 points (+58|-0)

OK Aiden, I'm gonna be your mom when she accidentally calls you she and I want you to practice taking a deep breath and trying not to throw a huge fit and cause a scene.

Ready... GO!

[–] SpatOutTheKoolaid 23 points (+23|-0)

Because the world needs to change, not the individual, of course.

[–] sconsolato 5 points (+5|-0) Edited

Seriously, when did we get like this? Like, as a society? Why do we accept this nonsense? Are people really this afraid of being called "intolerant"? Because it barely means anything anymore anyway.

edit: also, I love your username!

It's been on an increase over the last decade parallel to the rise of and complete integration of social media into society....there's a lot of money behind it and a lot of social engineering. There are teenagers raised by the internet that fully believe "woman" and "man" are feelings, and that not being 100% characture of gender role stereotypes makes them neither male nor female and also the next step in human evolution. And society, politicians, etc. just cheer them on. Opiate crisis is going out of style, big pharma has to make the big bucks somewhere!

[–] RawSienna 19 points (+19|-0)

These are people who clearly don’t live in the real world. Some one needs to tell them to step away from the internet.

[–] bellatrixbells 22 points (+22|-0)

I tried. Twitter and Reddit banned me 😂

[–] sconsolato 4 points (+4|-0)

Seriously?

I don't know why it still shocks me every time I hear of a radfem being banned from social media, but it really does. Especially because I know it was for something innocuous. Meanwhile, males in makeup get to threaten us with rape and physical violence, and they get pat on the back.

[–] reed_that_bends 63 points (+63|-0)

I'd rather meet a friend over coffee to talk about climate change, refugees, and people with real problems that need my attention.

[–] LOriginedumonde 43 points (+43|-0)

Exactly. I’m so tired of people with manufactured problems getting top priority.

[–] Mmmm_Brains 24 points (+24|-0) Edited

Absolutely. It's truly the land of make believe with this hogwash. Human rights get worse by the day and yet more and more time goes into this irrelevant shit. Not a conspiracist but this shit stinks.

[–] LOriginedumonde 40 points (+40|-0)

Not a conspiracist but this shit stinks.

I’m not a conspiracist either but sometimes late at night when I’m super baked, I wonder if this is all an elaborate psyop. It’s just all too convenient. White men are now the most oppressed demographic in human history, women are now the oppressor class and therefore get no sex based rights, homosexuals are ‘genital fetishist’, long over due talks about race inequality have been put on the back burner in favor of trans rights, almost all resources are being poured into, as you said, “irrelevant shit”, and the list goes on. So bizarre.

[–] hard_headed_woman 21 points (+21|-0)

I'd rather talk about teeth extraction without anesthetic before talking about this crap.

[–] A_Lady 39 points (+39|-0)

This reminds me of a debate I saw between Jordan Peterson and a TIF professor from his university regarding pronoun use. The TIF actually suggests that people could save others preferred pronouns in their phones. The narcissism is off the charts with these people. They really aren’t important enough in my life to waste the ten seconds to save their pronouns in my phone. Give me a break.

[–] girl_undone 31 points (+31|-0)

Yeah, keep peeking at your phone during a conversation, that's a normal pro-social behavior.

[–] Zaftig [OP] 33 points (+33|-0)

Seriously. Looking at your phone repeatedly to remember someone's pronouns is rude. People with special pronouns should get them tattooed on their foreheads. I will never forget that way.

[–] ifelifelse 5 points (+5|-0)

I mean why not? If they’re so sure their identity is who they really are, deciding to get a forehead tattoo should be a piece of cake.

[–] sconsolato 2 points (+2|-0) Edited

Okay, this is actually a great idea, and I am so in favor of promoting the suggestion. It'll be even funnier when the whole fad blows over, and they are left with a permanent reminder of that ridiculous phase they went through. Just in case the permanent damage they did to their bodies with hormones/surgery doesn't serve as a good enough reminder.

[–] kalina 15 points (+15|-0)

these people seem to talk to each other pretty much exclusively online, I don't think they spend a lot of thought on real life conversation

[–] RawSienna 10 points (+10|-0)

Seriously! If standard face-to-face interaction now needs to be mediated by tech, that’s gonna be a big no from me. Fuuuuck that.

[–] Omina_Sentenziosa 30 points (+30|-0)

Even if they were important enough for you to do it, the issue here is that lots of us simply do not want to play along with this stuff.

It' s not difficult to remember that Laverne Cox wants to be described as a she, the problem is that I don' t want to call him a she because he isn' t one.

It' s like that TIF doesn' t even conceive the possibility that people might simply... not give a damn about her or people like her. As if nobody had anything better to do than centre their life over gender specials' s stupid preferred pronouns.

[–] Hollyhock 7 points (+7|-0)

It's a whole lot easier for my brain to call Laverne she than it is for my brain to call anyone they/them

It is easier because at least he uses singular pronouns: calling one person "they" just feels wrong on a grammatical level in a way that calling a man she doesn' t.

But the point I was making is that if people care about doing it, they remember and adapt. It' s just that lots of people do not want to do it.

[–] Hollyhock 36 points (+36|-0)

I have friends who have a child who is has demanded they/them pronouns for YEARS...oddly, despite them being the kind of parents who want to be supportive of it, fail miserably all the time....they can't get it right and they've practiced it diligently for a long time. It really doesn't work.

I don't know them well enough to call this out, but I observe it frequently.

[–] Zaftig [OP] 43 points (+43|-0) Edited

Everytime I hear my friend talk about her one kid I think she is talking about both her kids.

Her: They are loving school this year. They love their teacher. Me: Oh, they have the same teacher? Her: No, they love their teacher. She doesn't like her teacher very much.

Such a bad way to communicate.

[–] bellatrixbells 45 points (+45|-0) Edited

"But singular 'they' has always been used !! It's not our fault you can't speak English properly !!"

I read a whole ass comment thread about this the other day and I was like... Guys, what do you think of context ? You don't use singular they as a recurrent subject ffs.

ETA I seriously had a gender special complain to me that English was better because French doesn't have an equivalent to singular they, which she wanted to use. I was like OMG THAT'S BECAUSE IT DOESN'T FUCKING MAKE SENSE IN THAT LANGUAGE EITHER.

I'm tired of this shit.

[–] yesisaiditxx 20 points (+20|-0) Edited

That’s still dumb because singular they ALSO, whenever it confuses anyone, will have something like this come about immediately:

“They? Who? Who’s coming?”

“The ticket person. Idk who it is but they were supposed to have met us here”

“Oh okay”

sees boy

“Oh I think that’s HIM”

So no morons that’s not such a gotcha argument, if anyone acts confused for a second you clarify.

[–] HarpyMarx 10 points (+10|-0)

French does, actually; they could use “on.” It’s also an informal “we” so it would be even more confusing .

French has “on”. And, a comment I read the other day said, English has “one”. But those don’t require adults to pretzel their speech into word salad for the amusement of the kids.

[–] Eava 4 points (+5|-1)

I don't know how they [the parents]don't lose their minds.

[–] Mmmm_Brains 12 points (+12|-0)

Because that's not how language works and these gender specials can't make it. I bet the money the child in question doesn't even think of themselves that way, for all they want to opt into this shot and brainwash themselves it doesn't quite work.

[–] girl_undone 30 points (+30|-0)

Sorry, I can't meet up this weekend and have fun, I'm busy practicing how to talk about my shitty coworker in the third person.

[–] Researcher1536 16 points (+16|-0)

Did you buy your woke pronoun exercise workbook from the woke bookstore?

[–] legopants super terf 30 points (+30|-0)

This is just embarrassing. Get a fucking life it's so miserable to do nothing but obsess over how others perceive you.

[–] hmimperialtortie 30 points (+30|-0)

The joke is that the more they obsess on making other people perceive them according to their demands, the more people will despise them.

[–] SpatOutTheKoolaid 22 points (+22|-0)

And the more they claim "oppression" from being avoided! It's a complete cycle of their own doing.

[–] hmimperialtortie 12 points (+12|-0)

And of course they will never, never take the slightest responsibility for any of their actions.

[–] Carrots90 27 points (+27|-0)

Is this an excuse to get someone to talk about you?

Because it’s the only way to practice

“You and a friend should meet for coffee and talk about me for an hour”

[–] Dark_Mercy 13 points (+13|-0)

I'd much rather meet someone for coffee and talk with them for an hour then have someone talk about me for an hour.

[–] Carrots90 1 points (+1|-0)

Well, I guess that’s why you fail as a narcissist and will never be a TIM

You need to step up your game!

[–] WatcherattheGates 23 points (+23|-0) Edited

Gosh, the entitlement! It just reeks of it.

[–] Mmmm_Brains 13 points (+13|-0)

People who didn't want to face the responsibility of being the problem, and decided to fabricate oppression whilst making themselves an even bigger problem.

[–] SpatOutTheKoolaid 22 points (+22|-0)

Every last one of these super special cultists believes him or herself to be the one true center of the universe.

I once had a conversation with a super woke who had a friend who had recently declared herself "nonbinary person" (shocker I know). The friend kept reprimanding herself for saying 'her' "omg I'm so awful!" and went out of her way to emphasize the "THEY" in the most bizarre way--speaking in a normal tone of voice but when it was time for "pronoun use" tone got louder and stood out like when they used to dub out curse words when playing movies on primetime tv "back in the day". The "nonbinary person" in question lived in another state and would have no way of knowing this casual conversation took place and her friend was struggling so hard to be a "super good person" by showing how indoctrinated she was. Listening was like nails on a chalkboard....I was tempted to say "you know I'm not Big Brother" but didn't want to deal with the tantrum to follow.

[–] mathlover 18 points (+18|-0)

Rofl. Let them all slink off to their own private places where they can play pronoun make-believe with each other without dragging the rest of the world into their fantasy. Lol.
