Wow I didn’t realize human dads could prove to be so useless that grandmothers impact child survival to a higher degree. In hindsight, it certainly makes sense since I’ve often seen grandmothers raising their grandchildren more than fathers.

Sometimes I feel like we can look at the animal kingdom for models of female separatism. Elephant herds are usually all female plus their juvenile offspring. After males reach maturity, they are kicked out of the herd and really only meet up with females shortly for mating. Aside from that, female elephants don’t have to deal with male bullshit and their entire social structure is a matriarchy with grandma at the head
