It is like trans pandering is everywhere now! Like I just started watching this anime show a few days ago after hearing lots of good things about it ( I heard the author is female and did the art for Disney's Twisted Wonderland Joseimuke game plus many of my friends already liked it so I decided to check it out now that I found a dub for it in my native language ) and decided to read about the characters and... This is what I find... : https://lgbtqia-characters.fandom.com/wiki/Grell_Sutcliffe

Even the official wiki is calling this character a " she " now... With a HUGE ass notice about it too! : https://kuroshitsuji.fandom.com/wiki/Grelle_Sutcliff

The fandom is even calling the heterosexual relationship that this bloke had with a woman ( one of the very few heterosexual relationships that this bloke had in the show at that since he seems to be bisexual and seems to prefer males ) a " lesbian " or " femslash " relationship! : https://shipping.fandom.com/wiki/Redcliff

Some folks in this fandom simp so hard for TRAs that they write whole ass ESSAYS about this male character's " feminine gender " and totally not being a bloke at all! : https://chibimyumi.tumblr.com/post/184255325554/akumadeshitsumon-akumadeshitsumon-hey

They are even doing posts like this on DeviantArt trying to explain to people that this male character who murdered a woman he was in a relationship with for over 3 years in cold blood after calling her a " mediocre woman " after she refused to kill a child in front of him in the first few episodes of the show is " 100% woman " : https://www.deviantart.com/shadmoon-art/art/Grell-is-100-woman-498358877

Seriously why does this nonsense have to be everywhere now? I just wanna enjoy a good show and talk with some fans and this is what I find in the fandom... : https://www.reddit.com/r/blackbutler/comments/fh1ob9/i_think_its_important_just_to_note_that_grell/

I do like the anime though it is the fandom's trans pandering I dislike but it seems wanting to enjoy a good show without trans nonsense pandering from the fans is too much to ask for these days...

I dislike Grell, I am always glad when Sebastian takes him down a peg. The other problem with the show is the implied "shotacon." A woman wrote it and there are things about it I liked but I think there are issues with the mangaka too not just the fans.

Maylene/Meirin is a cool character when she is being a badass sniper.

I was a big fan of Black Butler when I first watched it 10 years ago. Everyone knew Grell to be just a cross dressing dude back then, at least I don't recall any instances of transing him then? It's bizzare to me that they do. The fandom also loves the CielxSebastian ship. I don't know what the state of the fandom is at this point, but I suggest you try to ignore it or they'll ruin the show for you as they do. πŸ™„

Fandom ruins everything. And I stay far away for that reason. Grell is a self declared okama and people trying to trans men of that subculture are culturally insensitive and stupid.

How far into the anime are you? It would be good to note that the last half of season 1 is not canon. The story gets a bit strange for it, but not necessarily bad from what I remember. But I'd say stay far away from season 2 unless you'd want to watch fan-pandering fanfic in animation form. Skip right to Book of Cirucs, or even just read the manga.

I'm at episode 13 of the first season where Ciel meets Prince Soma! I also watched the OVA specials since it was just 6 episodes! The specials were the first episodes I watched actually! Book of Circus doesn't seem to have been dubbed for my country yet so I will wait until it is out dubbed here! I heard it is really good! I feel bad for the Beast though...

Ah! I haven't seen the OVAs. But looking them up, if you liked the 6th one with the cast of Trancy Manor, season 2 might be for you. Book of Circus is the arc where things turn darker and more dramatic, and that what I like this story for. Beast's fate is pitiful, but it is the result of the unfortunate path she was on that she was not able to escape.

Grell's been there since forever. He/she's part of a specific subculture I forget the name of that gets lumped in with trans in the translations iirc, and ofc the modern fandom obsesses over that. Just read the manga by yourself, you don't need to suffer the fandom.

He! Grell is a male we don't need to play the pronoun game here! He even says so that he is male in the Manga around the time he killed the woman he was in a relationship with... Then there is also this scene here from the anime where he shows his male chest... : https://pm1.narvii.com/5900/7f41fb1fe3ed06935b02f7ba6b863d0fc03b2b4f_hq.jpg

Grell clocks male, no matter what the deranged fandom says. I've stayed far away from that show/manga simply because of how f*cked up the fans are and how much SA there is in the manga. They really seem to have no problem with pairing a demon who masquerades as an adult man and a thirteen-year-old boy. It's quite sickening, actually.
