So they're admitting it's a fake persona for the benefit of others. I'm glad we cleared that up.

This is obviously in response to Jordan Peterson getting banned off the bird app for saying Ellen Page had her breasts butchered by a quack doctor. And yet nobody gets fired, goes to jail, or suffers any other consequences for saying "Reginald Dwight" or "Norma Jean Mortenson" or "Eldrick Woods". Or even "Brian Warner" (Marilyn Manson) or "Vincent Fournier" (Alice Cooper).

Deadnaming is such a stupid concept: just because someone is dead means you don't say that person's name anymore? So I guess cemetery stones should just be blank and actual dead people be buried in unmarked graves. Obituaries in the newspaper may as well cease to exist.

I you think deadnaming Elliot Page is evil, then I truly hope you spend all your time to get "Sting", "Rihanna", etc, birth names removed from the first line of their wikipedia entries and replaced with their stage names.

Reminds me of the Dana Carvey bit on why Sting's stage name is awesome because of the verb tense. "It's not 'Stung'... it's not 'Stinging... it's STING!"

Those are called stage names lol but I guess that applies to Ellen too. Elliot Page is her stage name as she pretends to be a man.

And yet TRAs don't treat it like a stage name. If they did, Peterson (as much of an asshole as he can be) would still be on the site, and so would feminists who refuse to kowtow to genderwoo newspeak or "respect muh pronouns". There wouldn't be a Wikipedia style guide that bans people from the site for writing "Born as: Thomas Schneider" or "Born as: Richard Levine." You can't even say "a/k/a" or "the artist formerly known as". People with stage names may change them legally in court, but they don't get to change their birth certificate. This person is drawing a ridiculous false equivalency that isn't the mindfuck of the deadname concept at all.

None of those people would threaten to kill themselves if you called them by their birth names, because they’re not delusional/mentally ill

Hey, dumbass, there are also performers who call themselves Poison Ivy, Lux Interior, Black Francis and The Edge. Stage names.

Ellen's situation is stupid. They expect us to pretend she's not a woman. It's lunacy.

When Snoop was arrested on a murder charge, his police file didn't say "Snoop Dogg." It said "Calvin Broadus." But TRAs want eeeeeevery piece of documentation to carry the name of the "gender soul." I think, therefore I am -- no, you're not!

I call her by her legal name so, whatever but. On the topic of women changing their name after marriage or actors I actually do call them by their 'deadnames' because it's too confusing otherwise.
