Anyway the writer still doesn’t get it - they think we respect some “gender identities” but not others (spoiler: we reject them all!). Re Chelsea Manning
No, Manning’s being male did that. Lots of people will use preferred pronouns with people they respect, out of courtesy, but not those they don’t - not a difficult concept.
